Palladium is naturally a beautiful white metal, and thus never requires any type of plating.
Rhodium plating is normally done to white gold in order to make it a true white color, as white gold naturally has a yellow tint to it (white gold is primarily yellow gold mixed with a white metal..hence the yellow tint).
