diamondcrazy Ashaholic Registered: 03/03/04 Posts: 280	I was told by the jeweller that the nuggets are typically 19 carat gold when they are found and that the gold is better than the Welsh gold which is a more 'dirty' gold. The other alloy which is found naturally in the gold is silver so I suppose that is why the ring is green gold. It is 3mm wide and about 2.5 - 3mm in depth. I later got a pear of diamond hoop earrings made from Scottish gold from the same jeweller. That was the last of the gold they had at that time, they also made other wedding rings of wider widths but they were all sold before I got mine.

The larger one of my two is 22 carats and Jeri's is too, and the other one is 23 carats. Australia natural gold nuggets usually run a little less in carats.
