I was just curious if I should keep it away from the "pros" or boldy stick out my hand.

I wouldn't think so but that's just been my experience. I had 2 jewelers loupe my stone and google over it for a while before finally pulling out their diamond testers to settle the matter.

I have had several jewelers loupe it (well, several in one store [BB&B}), and none of them asked if it wasn't real. They just kept commenting on how clean it was, and how remarkable that is for a diamond of that size. They called it a diamond the whole time.

Not too many people that you show your ring to are going to pull out a loupe, but even if they did I think they would be pleasantly shocked.

BTW, what is your due date? You told me not too long ago, and I forgot.

I think jewelers can tell most c.z. is c.z. with a loupe, but not Asha. On every non-Asha c.z. I have louped, I can see very small scratches along the facet lines, these are not present in any Asha I have louped. Whether it's fantastic attention to detail on BTD's part, the ADT, a combination of the two, or something else I haven't thought of, those tell-tale scratches are not there. Boldly stick your hand out, I don't think you have anything to worry about!

Hi, I've been busy "nesting". The usual cleaning the house, painting here, moving furniture to that room and storing things. I'm hoping to have most of this stuff done way before the baby comes.

I'm due on June 1st.

And thinks for the responses. I was just curious if anyone could tell. I know it's easy to tell with most cz's, and I think I read that Asha's were different, but I just wanted your opinions. Thanks!

Mine couldn't and he is a very fancy pants sort of guy. My jeweler is in Newport Beach california, and most of his clients wear 2 plus carats. I took him the 1.5 round and I thought he was going to faint or something. He asked who sold us the stone, and if he could see the GIA. I let him go on and on for a bit before I told him. He assured me that he could not tell from just a loupe...

I can't wait to give this bad-boy to her. Her dad was a jeweler. I asked him about what his opinion was on sims, and fortunately he's not against them in any way, but I'm curious if he'll be able to tell.

Reading this, he probably won't! =D

I'm curious as well. I'm gathering your future FIL doesn't know it's a Asha?

Let us know what he says without the loupe first (assuming he pulls one out), and then his thoughts after louping.

Is he a GG? That may tilt the odd of his guessing correctly.
