Kimie
I see you are carrying the L'Occitane Eau des Vanilliers in your ebay store. What do you think of this one? I'm going to give it a sniff when I go to Sephora on Sunday. You're buying all these new scents without giving us reviews?..tisk, tisk
Lol, Well it's a very fine line....perfume's are my current addiction/hobby....BUT since I do sell them on ebay now, I have to be sure not to advertise/sell/push on the board as it's not allowed. So on the one hand, while I get so excited over the different perfumes I get to smell and want to tell you girls all about them, I've been trying to keep that line there. Soooo, in an effort to keep that line there, I've been pretty much just sharing the ones with you girls that I wear/own personally, or the ones that I try out when I go shopping at the mall. Where if I kept telling you girls about the new perfumes I keep getting in, it could be construed as selling/pushing on the board by others, and considered unfair.
This is my hobby, and I'm having so much fun with it, but I don't want the two worlds to clash. If I'm asked about specific perfumes, if I've smelled them, I'll do my best to answer your questions or give my opinion on them though. If you have any specific questions that pertain to my little store like what's new, what's coming etc then those need to be directed to me privately.
As far as the Vanilliers, to me it smells very rich...more like true vanilla beans. Sweet vanilla with floral undertones...smells like orchids to me. I love it, but I love most vanilla based scents.

WOW! Now that's getting expensive for a vanilla perfume! I actually checked on shipping to Canada for one lady, and was shocked at how much it cost! It was going to be $7.50 for one little vial, then don't you have to pay taxes on incoming stuff also??? I would go nuts as much as I buy online. It shocks me that it's such a big deal to mail to Canada...heck, Canada is closer to me than most of the states! I can remember back when beanies were so big, alot of the ladies who lived in Canada used to have PO boxes right over the line, or would have people ship to a friend right across the line. Between customs, import/taxes, and wait times it must make getting items a huge hassle.

Crazy expensive vanilla perfume! Here is the link if you weren't able to find it. Yes, shipping costs are way too high in Canada. I actually look at perfumes on ebay within Canada only. I do not want to get charged with customs and duty, especially if I am buying a used bottle of perfume - where taxes have already been paid.

Glad to hear you're feeling better today Gai dear. Hehe....so are you going to go with the Le Lys....or the Angel??? How long can you hold out???
Oooh, I've had Le Lys for a while now. It's the Angel-proper that's got me licking my chops. Heh heh. I also didn't like Pivoine on me, although I simply ADORE peonies in real life! ADORE 'em, I tell ya! I like the Violette too, but Le Lys won out after I had worn each 'til I got to smell all the notes. Mind, I'd not refuse it if DH were to suddenly sprout three heads and gift me with it. LOL! I'm cracking myself up, at the thought of DH actually wandering around in a fragrance dept. ROTF!!!
Funny how our system's chemistry interprets perfumes/fragrances, and how diverse they can smell on different people!
BTW, as far as I know, we only have to pay Customs on goods over $100 Canadian. I've not ever had a problem with items under that amount. I do believe it's illegal to ship perfumes into the country as it's supposedly dangerous goods. Ummmmm, and yet it's safe to ship them within the country? And how do they get here in the first place? Honestly, sometimes the bureaucrats just make me shudder, their policies annoy me so much.
When I'd ordered some perfume from a US seller, he was AWESOME and just put "glass jar" on the declaration form! That worked! And the shipping wasn't expensive, either -- guess it depends on how it's shipped? USPS seems quite reasonable, from packages I've had shipped.

Hi Gai. I have heard various price points with customs. I bought some used books for $20.00 recently and was charged $6.00 on custom fees. That was the straw that broke me - never again I said! Unless, of course, it is something that I really have to have and can't get ANYWHERE else here. It is actually illegal to ship perfumes anywhere in Canada but if you're shipping within, you do not have to state what it is you are shipping. They could confiscate it if they figured out it was perfume. I can see their point if I try hard enough.
