I totally want to see a closeup! The jewelers description made it sound like it is set in a halo, possibly, and that looks like an emerald cut?? I totally pictured her with a frank gehry kind of ring.

I'd love to know if it's a conflict free diamond, considering all the ties she has to Africa.

I almost thought she would have a Colombian emerald, since she wears them so much on the red carpet. I would've loved to have seen someone as high-profile as her picking a colored gemstone over a diamond in an engagement ring. But Brad Pitt helped design it, and he's a diamond guy, as we saw with the ring he gave Jennifer Aniston. Darn.

But: I love the size of the diamond. It's not in-your-face-I-have-money-and-can-afford-huge-expensive-things; it's just right for her hand. (From this angle, anyway.)

I thought the same thing! They go so well with her coloring. But I can understand how with running after 6 kids she might opt for something she wouldn't have to be as careful with.

It says that Brad source the diamond, so it is a diamond. A little surprising as there are really no 100% conflict free diamonds in my mind, and she has spoken out against diamonds in the past. It almost looks like the ends have pave rows, but not a halo... And it ooks like there are 2 bands...under each end. I want to see the design!!!!!
