Does anyone else do a treadmill? Maybe we could be treadmill buddies? I've been doing a little over a mile, going to up it to 1.25 miles today. It will probably take about 40 minutes at my pace. I'm hoping to work up to about 5 miles by the end of the summer (hopefully a lot faster pace so it doesn't take 2 hours, LOL!). I have some freeweights, but not like a whole barbell system -- I'm not ready for that. I think I'm going to start just arm and ab things as soon as I get to 1.5 miles.

I sure do have more energy -- that is as long as I get enough sleep.

Seriously looking for a buddy to stay motivated. Accounting to another person seems to help.

Lumpkin, I walk on the park, but we could still be buddies if you want!

I use my treadmill every day for 30 minutes and walk 2.10 miles at 4.2 MPH. I feel like I get my heart rate up and a decent work out. Also have the tv set to my favorite show or grab a magazine. I'll be your buddy anytime!

Treadmills mean danger to me,, every time I have used one when I get off I fall over, its quite embarassing, especially at the gym when you try to grab something to keep yourself from falling and you take down the guy running next to you..
He was very nice though.

I have use of one and I LOVE it. But it took me a while to get used to running on it; I was never one of those people who could hop on and off without stopping it...

I'll be your buddy!! I've been doing about 5 minutes walking briskly, 25-30 minutes running, then another 5 minutes walking briskly until my back gave out. But I'm trying to start again...and got the doctor's okay too.

I will be your buddy too! I alternate between treadmill walking and outside walking depending on the weather, and I really NEED to get back into it fierce! Lets go!

How cool! I'm so glad there are so many people who walk or use the treadmill. I did 1.28 miles today. I start at about 1.5 mph and work up to 2.8, then cool down gradually back to 1.5. I definitely have more energy and sleep better at night. I actually woke up craving excercise this morning!

I haven't been on this forum much because I'm such a beginner. I wasn't really ready to commit to exercise, but I am now and I'm really looking forward to everyone else's stories and progress.
