I am a hairdressser & was wondering if the chemicals I am exposed to daily will negatively effect the Asha stone? IE perm solutions, dyes, sprays etc. ?

Hi there,
The chemicals will not be hazardous to the Asha except to temporarily dull its appearance...but nothing that a good cleaning (ultrasonic) won't easily correct.

Remember that the outermost layers of Asha are composed of microscopic diamond crystals, and diamond is one of the most inert compounds known (it does not react with other chemicals or compounds).

So, it should be fine - just realize that things like hairspray, conditioner, etc. will quickly dull out the stones sparkle until it is cleaned.

We do recommend you have a good ultrasonic to clean your jewelry with, but other than that, you should be just fine!

Hope that helps,
Less

Thank you for the info. I have been reading about the ultrasonic. I used to work at a jewelry store & realize that this is the best method for keeping jewelry looking it's best. My question is where can I get this cleaner you recommend? And doesn't the solution used in the ultrasonic play an important role in the cleaning process as well?

Hi there,
We sell it on our website under Misc products (though we only have 3 left in our current stock) - you can also find other dealers by searching under Branson on any search engine.

Regarding the solution, you can just add a few drops of ammonia, or a few drops of regular hand-dishwashing liquid to the water in the ultrasonic, or you can purchase special ultrasonic cleaning liquid.

The chemical aspect is not the primary means of why a true ultrasonic cleans, so while adding ammonia or other chemicals helps speed up the process, they are not required.

The only ones that require special solutions are the $19.95 special ultrasonics commonly seen on ebay...because all of their cleaning power comes from the chemical, as they really don't generate any ultrasonic cleaning waves.

Hope that helps!

Less,
When do you expect another shipment of the ultrasonics (since you only have 3 left currently)?
I was planning on adding that to my order (which, btw, is getting larger by the day! )
Thanks!

Hi Jewelle!
Based on our previous experience, we should have another shipment here about mid-April. I just emailed the factory tonight to double-check, but mid-April is the best estimate (we order these in large quantity, and they make them as we order....so its a long turnaround, plus they are made in Taiwan, so shipping is slow).

Hope that helps!
