DLady -- LOVE the brown and pink together! Cool ring you "put together." Definitely delicious. If only we could just PhotoShop our treasures into reality. Whooo-eeee! You'd be so in business!

And the potential 35th b-day ring, DA -- gorgeous! I'm not generally a pink person (I look right pathetic in pink...) but that ring IS gorgeous!!! Your DH would be an over-the-top genuine hero if he produced that baby for ya!

OMG -- AWESOME, DA! That is going to look fabulous on your hand! Is it a done deal; is it on the way to your finger? Or do you have to have it "built" for you?! Oh, I'm so excited for you!!!

The pink one is lovely, but THIS one is the real deal -- timeless, gorgeous, a classic beauty! What size is it, if you don't mind my asking? It looks like a great color. I'm hoppin' up and down for you, here!

That is a light yellow INTERLAP!!!

I'm buying Jasmin's ring. Its funny because that's the stone she won from KittyKitty for a DT contest, who bought it from me off Ebay, and I got it as a surprise gift from Mercier. It's coming back to me.

Forgot to say its about a 4 carat stone, and I've already sent payment via Paypal.

This is the diamond that I had wanted to get (2.63 M...approx 12.7 x 7.5 mm). The interlap is only slightly larger.

Pretty darn close looking, huh?

Beautiful...the stone itself and that it's come full-circle back to you!

Just chiming in on the pink stones... By the way - Congrats on that pear DA!

Spinel is only a 7.5 - 8 on the Mohs hardness scale. Sapphire is a 9. Harder and more durable for daily wear. It is also slightly more refractive (higher refractivity index). To get the color you wand Rhonda, you'll need to find natural, unheated pink sapphire which has a beautiful full-bodied baby pink color. I had one, a pear 8x6mm about a year ago but sold it when I got bored (didn't take long, never does!).

I got mine direct from Stuller, at the time I was buying moissanite direct from them and reselling it. Long story.

Anyway, that would be your best option for long lasting fine jewelry quality pink stones. Otherwise go cz or tourmaline or spinel.

Rhonda -- didn't you have a ring with pink stones in it, that you thought were too pink to be rubies? Or maybe I have the ring and owner confused... So many threads, so many posts... Pink sapphires, mm-hmm!

DA -- The ole "comes around, goes around" theory but applied in a different way. tee hee! The Merry Go-Round in action!

PCM , thanks for the tip on untreated pink sapphires. I'll keep my eyes open for them!

cricket , yes that was me. I bought a ruby & diamond band from ebay and the stones were way too pink. But they were a bright pink!! I thought that I could not return it because I asked that they size it before mailing. However, since his photo was RED rubies, and mine were very obviously PINK, he let me return it for a full refund.
