Melanie, I chose the regular Fed-EX for $14.95 and it came in a week. What shipping method did you choose?

I will not be doing the food diet per'se. I will be trying to eat better, more often, in small quantities and do some of the exercising. I'm not going to count calories or do a strict regimen of foods. Just change what I eat and add some vitamins and such. We'll see how it goes.

I'm excited too! I want to lose about 30 lbs, but more importantly is I want to lose the body fat around the middle, so will probably be focusing on the ab, butt, & thigh stuff.

Awwww Man, I just picked the shipping that they offered, I guess for $9.95, plus 3 payments of $19.95 (I called them this morning and told them to just bill me the $70.00 and not to break it up) Well let me give you a little insight the SBD targets your middle area, belly fat, that is where the weight will come from first if you have it there. I know several people who have tried it and it REALLY does work. Melanie

I don't think I even have abs anymore! I am having my hubby bring up the pilates to put in the office for me. There aren't too many places in the house where it can go and not be in the way! Isabel will NOT stay off of the gazelle but it's the only thing she can get to at the moment. You must tell us how it goes! Great luck! I lost somewhere around 85-87 pounds after Jax was born but I walked about 6 miles everynight and did weight training and pilates. It took about 10 months! I got huge with both my pregnancies. I'm going to have to find you guys some before and after shots. I don't looke lik the same person at all. It's amazing what just 10-15 pounds can do for your self-esteem! People that didn't know me before I had Jackson but after I was thin again couldn't believe I did it without dieting! When I'm in shape and excercising every other day I can eat whatever I want!

2 tips for anyone that is trying to get in shape...drink nothing but water (TONS of it) and don't eat after about 5 or 6pm.

Good luck to ALL of you!!!!

Btrfly, thanks for the tip on SBD. I might look into it if this doesn't work. This one has a targeted middle section workout portion of the DVD, so we'll see.

Star, you know what made me decide to do something ? It wasn't the fact that I was buying pants 2 sizes larger than normal, or wearing t-shirts over my swimsuit to use our pool.... no, no, that was my denial. What really got to me was some Father's Day photos we took earlier this month. I saw myself in head shots and I had no chin or neck definition. I had this "fat" face and almost no distinction between the chin and neck. Let me tell ya, it was a rude awakening! For some reason, I could let the bigger clothes hide the middle and be ok with it, but when I saw it in my face - something you can't hide! - I decided to get my butt in gear! Too funny!

You are welcome DiamLady!

Star, thanks for the water tip. I really need to start drinking water period! I rarely drink it.

I am going to tell you ladies that I need motivation and encouragement. I am going to need you guys to say to me "Bttrfly/Melanie have you worked out today?" I am a paralegal in Washington, DC and I keep really strange and long hours, especially when I am working on a case that is about to go trial, and I have one going to trial in July. I get up at 5 in the morning to be to work at 7:00 AM and sometimes I do not get home until late around 10:00 PM or so...but it all depends on how much I want to go home and have the work waiting for me the next day. I am sure that I will have to get up earlier in the morning to work out or do it before bed..but I WILL get it done! Melanie

Well I wish I had that problem Cyn! But when I am working around the clock, I tend to let the vending machine be my friend. Not to mention the fact that my firm has a wonderful expense account and a top DC chef on the premises to whip up wonderful meals at any hour!

I am on the South Beach diet and LOOOOVE it - I only have/had 10 lbs to lose, but this diet totally gets rid of belly fat first - in fact, that statement is even on the cover of the book!!

I've lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks on it, but more than that, I was able to get back into a pair of size 4 shorts I haven't seen since before my son Ryan was born!! (3 years ago)...it literally CHANGES the distribution of your weight - THAT was my big issue, not my weight. I want to lose 5 more lbs and I am on Phase 2 (phase 1 is the strictest).

I am a HUUUUUUUGE carb lover, but honestly ladies, that is why I wasn't happy with my stomach. Now, going low-carb, (notice it's not NO carbs like Atkins - and to me, Atkins is too high fat), my stomach is FLAT!!! HOORAY!!!

Just my 2 cents worth but there is an AWESOME forum on Delphi.com (south beach buddies) that I am a member of, and I learned everything about it there before ever buying the book!

Sorry to hijack the thread - I just am so excited to have had something budge my mid-section!!! (c-section belly!)

Can any of those diets be used while breastfeeding?
