I was crusing ebay and see some Montana Sapphires that have great colors but the listing says either color enhanced or heat treated. I thought the Montana sapphires were all natural. Sounds kinda stupid now that I type it out. I don't know why I thought that. Does anyone know if they come in all those pretty colors naturally too? (pinky- orange and salmon) Or do they always require some form of treatment to bring out the color??

It is my understanding that they can be and are mined in quite a large range of colors...including pinky-oranges. But I could be wrong! Shoot an email to Steve (the Montana Sapphire guy), I'm sure he'll shoot straight with you.

Thanks for the info Cyn. I really like that pinky one on the end. I'm looking for a pinkish/orangeish/salmon color.

Eeh, not really. I've just always loved that color and want one. I recently got a ring from shop nbc that has a natural pink in the center and golden yellows on the sides. I LOVE the setting, (it's that 3-circles of rounds with bezel center stones), but these sapphires are BRIGHT colors! I only have a little while to decide, so while I think on it, I wanted to see if more subtle shades were out there.

No, not yet. I haven't decided if I'm keeping it. I guess I will so you can see.

.. on the hand.

But see how BRIGHT they are? I love this setting, but I don't know if I like these stones. I like the pink/yellow together, but OMG, these are so BRIGHT! LOL

The setting is wonderful, much like the Ritani, La Rouche and others I've drooled over and coveted. I appreciate what you are saying about the sapphires as I'd love to see some softer colors in there myself. Did you get a good enough deal to consider keeping the setting and replacing the stones?

I thought it was a pretty good deal at $399. 14kt white gold with diamonds and it's a nice heavy setting. The diamonds are not the best though at H/I and I1 clarity, but they're so small it doesn't bother me. And it does sparkle quite a bit outdoors.

I didn't think that I could replace the center stones because they are bezel set and there is a fancy under gallery inside the ring???

Even if they had to drill through the stones to cut them out, could new ones be placed in there? I don't see how they could do that.

EDited to add: Here's the shop nbc ring link to read the description. But here's what it says:

<<<14K white gold and features one round cut 5mm pink sapphire bezel set at the center. On each side of the center stone is one round cut 3mm spessartite in a bezel setting. The ring is dazzled with 68 round cut diamonds in rhodium plated bead settings. Total pink sapphire weight is 0.56ct, total spessartite weight is 0.30ct and total diamond weight is 0.51ct (all approximate weights). Diamond color is H-I and clarity is SI2-I1.>>>
