OK, now that my pulse is back to normal....

I just got back from playing at Tiffany's!!!!!! I went to a smoke shop for hubby (he likes an occasional pipe) and on the way there was a Tiffany's----HEY WHEN DID THEY PUT THAT THERE??????

So coming back by it from the smoke shop, I couldn't resist. I go in and this lovely young woman greets me and asks if she can help me find anything. I go "no thank you, I just came in so that I could say that I'd been to Tiffany's". So she winks at me and goes "Oh, let's play"!!

Ladies......I tried on: a 3-ct Novo ($99,000); a 1.? Legacy ($45,000); "our basic 1.22-ct classic knife edge solitaire" ($32,000); a 2-ct emerald-cut solitaire ($110,000); and there was something that was $72K and darn it I can't remember.

Then I looked (tried on) at: some sapphire/diamond and some emerald/diamond combos (did you know that Tiffany's only sets emeralds in yellow gold?).

Looked at some charm bracelets too.

I barely made it back to work after all that hyperventillation!

The young lady DID compliment me on my london blue topaz/"diamond" RHR! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Anyway, loads to do, back to work.

wow your tiff's SA sounds really nice.... you must not have gone to the one in southern california at the "prestigious" south coast plaza. they barely ever acknowledge my boo and i when we go in, let alone let me try on jewlery just for fun. *le sigh* i bet it's because we both look so young. glad you had fun! \:\)

copy<<< 2-ct emerald-cut solitaire ($110,000)>>>

UM, WHA????? That's REALLY high, even for Tiff's!!
Holy Moola!

I've been looking around at 2.25 to 2.75ct size EC's online for around $18 to $25k. I can't imagine WHY Tiffs would need to charge THAT much for just a 2ct??? \:o

I once tried a nearly 5ct EC solitaire at Tiffany's and it was something around $80,000, and the stone looked really nice too!

Oh WOW! I have never been to Tiffany's before either. They sound like they were awesome to you! \:\) I went to a Cartier boutique once in Grand Cayman and the lady looked at us like we were something she found under her shoe! LOL

We went into a Tiffany's at a high end mall, dressed in sloppy clothes and carrying motorcycle helmets (i.e. too poor to afford a car). The sales associate remained friendly and even joked with us when we commented that one of their rings cost enough to buy a car.

Very pleasantly surprised by the service rendered particularly when Singapore isn't really known for great retail service.

I bet that was so much fun!! I've never tried on any of their "holy smokes" items.

We have a Tiffany's here. I have a few pieces of their silver jewlery line. I'm a lover of silver and they have really pretty pieces. Waaaaay over priced, I know, but I still love 'em. It's the smooth polish and the simplicity. If you love silver, it's hard to find fully finished pieces.

Ebedner - that is horrible to be treated that way. I think it's funny - they are sales people. Where do they get off acting that way.

I always end up thinking about something great to say looong after the fact!

Ya wanna hear what the funniest thing was? I wimped out at the last second an pulled off my new 10mm blingy-bling from my left hand! I only left on my LBT--10x8 oval shaped purchased from GemShopping back when Marvin was till around, set in a Dianna-like setting purchased from a kiosk of all places, lol. I didn't even have my "diamond" tennis bracelet on! Just a bead bracelet my children made me (and the matching anklet) and one other silver bracelet!

I was dressed in capris, Birkenstocks and a white linen shirt with some embroidering on the sleeves; I was hot and my feet were tired (store is approx. 12 blocks from my office), and I almost didn't go in.

It truly was alot of fun! That emerald cut may have been a 3-ct something or other.

Question though, she showed my a ring and called the stone the Lucida; I've always thought Lucida was a prong type? The prong type is what I expected it to be, but I know she referred to the stone as being Lucida. Talk about pinpoint shots of fire on that baby!

Anyhoo, it really was fun! Someone asked about pics of my LBT; I wish I had a camera to take pics! Only thing I have is a cell phone camera! I'd love for you guys to see some of my pieces.

Nighty-night all, it's past my bedtime.

rotflol that would have been funny!

There are three Louis Vuitton stores all within 1 - 1.5 hours of our house and out of the three I told dh I only want to go back to one, (he has bought at all three) because they are always so nice and welcoming regardless of what I look like, so they will get our business. I sure hope the ladies in there get commission as well as salary they definitely deserve it for always giving great customer service!

The Lucida is actually a cut Tiffany's came up with... I think it is a modified Flanders or something like that. They also came up with the setting, which a lot of people refer to as Lucida, but the name is for the cut of the stones.

oh that's interesting! i can't tell the difference between the tiffany lucida setting and the vatche x-prong setting i always thought they were the same and tiffany got the setting from vatche.
