Noodle: I am the same way! When I was doing the low carb thing, I actually had dreams at night of cupcakes. No joke.

Yeah, there is probably no one answer for everyone. I feel pretty okay on South Beach...the reason why I have fallen off of it before is that I make excuses when I have to go to a social event and then it just gets the ball rolling and I'm off and running with the junk. I've changed my mentality on that I think. Tonight was my first test...went to a birthday party where there were dips, chips and crackers everywhere and pie and cake and rice salads, etc. Ahhhh...LOL! I had a big plate of grilled vegetables, some grilled chicken and shrimp. I was actually very satisfied and felt very proud of myself for having the discipline. Yahooo!!! I just kept thinking, if I cheat I will want MORE starchy and sweet stuff tomorrow and then I'm DONE.
I swear, I want to decorate my house with post-it notes that say NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS...that is my mantra right now! LOL!
Maybe we should just make this a general diet thread for anyone trying to improve their diet, no matter what method?

Great mantra! I might just have to use that one! My biggest problem is trying to diet and feed DH at the same time. Auuugghhh! How do y'all do it? The thing that is hard too is that he HAS to have meat every night. I am not vegatarian but if I go a couple of days without eating meat it really isn't a big deal to me. I can be perfectly happy with whole grains fruits and veggies.

Meat is okay - lean meats are fine on South Beach. I seriously am making a cute sign for my fridge tomorrow that has my 'mantra' on it . I haven't cheated at all so far...yay!!! Down to 133 this morning! 138 / 133 / 125

Well today is day 4 of restricting my portions and I haven't died yet! Ha. I do need to exercise more though. I used my bike on Sunday, worked a night shift Monday, and that always wrecks everything.

Anyone else still with me on this thread? Still on South Beach...I did have a glass of wine at a birthday celebration last night, but I skipped the bread, potatoes and cake. I had a nice marinated flank steak, broccoli with onions and pine nuts, and a salad.
Down to 132 this morning!!!

Yes,I'm still here! Congrats on the loss, m2g! Well, today is my b-day and DH and I are going away for the weekend minus the kids, so I have a feeling that SB is out the window for a few days. I'll get back on the wagon on Monday!

I made the YUMMIEST Orange Roughy dinner tonight!!! I just kind of created the recipe and it really turned out awesome! If anyone wants the recipe I'll post it. I stole parts from 3 other recipes I had that had nutrition info so I could calculate calories, carbs, etc. It is sooo good!

Still with you, here, too, but I don't have a scale and can only weigh in when I go to the doctor. But I can tell there are great changes happening! I only eat now because my tummy grumbles. The rest of the time I don't even think of food. I used to come home from eating out and go straight to the fridge without even thinking. It feels good to eat only 'cause you're hungry; a new experience for me
