I bought the platinum, x-prong ring that Dulce (aka total sweetheart!) had and I absolutely love it. The platinum feels SO heavy and just plain yummy (I cannot put the ring down)! It's so much heavier than my (Cyn's ) 3 stone and it's only a size 5 3/4 (the 3 stone is 8.5). Can y'all imagine the heft after it's sized (ohhhh, I need that bucket, y'all!).

Anyway, I've been trying to get some good pictures of the ring, but apparently I suck at that (Smarie says I need an umbrella to filter and I say she's right LOL). Here's a decent one.

I love the Asha! I have a loose interlap of the same size and I breathed on both and the fog was off the Asha before I could get it in my eyesight and the fog on the interlap stayed for 7 seconds. There's a huge difference in cut between the two (I'm preaching to the choir, right? LOL). I'm just really impressed all the way around.

Love it, love it and love it!

It is gorgeous, love that color flash you captured.
I'm so glad you are so pleased with the ring and the Asha, I had a sneakin' suspicion you would be. Congrats Kari, sounds like you're really happy!

I love the buckets Cyn, LOL!

The stone is 1.25ct. I'm used to 1.5, so this is a change, but definitely more realistic for my lifestyle. Looks great with my eternity ring too

This is my second Asha. My first was a 1.5ct in a cathedral setting and it was GORGEOUS! The jeweler wouldn't size it, so I sold it to Gai.

I'm SO anal. I've already buffed it with a sunshine cloth (that works suprisingly well to buff out the small scrathes), used a baby toothbrush on it and it's now being steamed. It showed up perfectly sparkly, but you know, I have to pamper it a bit.

Well, folks, it's at the jewelers and I'll have it at 5:30. He said he'll go up 3 sizes.

I sent DH there with a handwritten page, the asha instructions and something Juan wrote about polishing platinum with a CZ. LOL! I had DH preface the conversation by saying that we've had some horrible experiences with jewelers and benchmen in the past and would like that to end here .

So, anyway, I'll report back with some new pictures once I get it back.

Thanks Stacey, I'm trying

LOL! Yup, I'm just a control freak, pain in the arse LOL! I covered everything from where not to polish to how I want the shank to not have any soder lines, pitting and for it to be uniform to the rest of the ring. The guy must've thought I lost my marbles LOL. I'm starting to think that most jewelers need it spelled out that you want quality workmanship.

Maybe I need to become a benchwoman and do my own rings? LOL!

The ring is perfect. Not a flaw one, period and boy did we loupe it good LOL. Perfection, I can't even tell he sized it! I FINALLY found a wonderful benchman. I'm going to have him put a euroshank on it soon. The ring at the top is 4.5mm, tapering to 3mm on the sides and 2mm on the bottom. The bottom is way too skinny and I don't care for it. The euroshank will take care of that, plus add 5 grams for a total of 13 grams of plat, baaaaaby!

Anyhay, here's a picture. It's rainy here, so it's not the greatest, but y'all get the idea. The gap doesn't look obvious to me in person, so I'll stay with a straight band. Though, I'm going to buy a plat eternity ring that's 2.5mm in the next month or so.

Kari, that rings looks beautiful w/ the eternity band. When you get the platinum band, try it with a band on each side of the solitaire -- I totally LOVE the look!

ROFL!!! Yup, I may have found *the* ring, as incredible as that is. There isn't a single thing about this ring I don't like or that remotely irritates me (that's a miracle, as everything I've own bothered me in one way or another). I even like the 1.25ct size. I think my days of using a 3 stone for my e-ring is over. Though, I'd like to get a 3 stone similar to my old 3 stone, but with a .75ct center and .50 sides in platinum for my right hand.

Ironically, when I first found DT, the x-prong was the first one that caught my eye, but I never bought one, until now.

Smarie, it's really nice to have a jeweler that does stuff right. He's the owner, so I know he isn't going anywhere. I won't take my stuff anywhere else, so long as I can go to him.

Hi Noodle, I'm going to PM ya now
