Okay, now that I have shown you some nit picky things wrong with the ring on the left, what are some of the major things right with both rings?
Your turn! I will be back later to tell you what I think...

In my own defense, notice I couldn't find anything?! They are both beautiful pieces Wink.

I know absolutely nothing about the finer points of jewelry BUT I like how the side stones carry the shape of the center stone out to the shank. Which probably sounds like "blah-blah, blah-blah-blah, blah" to the knowledgeable ones around here. But that's just what my eyes like about each ring.

Excellent! Cyn, your post was great and incorporated nearly every thing I was going to say so no need for me to say it again. You can probably work quality control for most jewelers. That nice thick shank will wear for at least ten years and more likely fifteen to twenty before needing to be replaced. These rings will outlive the CZ's. Well, maybe not the Asha in the ring on the right. Jury is out on that, we know it will wear longer than the other cz's without the coating, but how long is longer. I guess we will have to wait for some of them to start wearing out to know...
Chai, your point about the gentle taper from the center stone to the shank is the only point that Cyn did not mention, and that is more a function of the design than the actual making of the ring, although the stones were chosen for just that reason.
Starstruck, I could not figure out how them not being yours was a good thing. Then I saw that you thougt I was asking what was wrong. Then I really liked your answer.
MrsE. I never thought about the split prong being something you never see on sims, I guess because we do so many of them. You get the prize for an answer that I would not have given, but which has a lot of merit.

Wink, I have to brag about you!!! That ring with the genuine sapphires is my e-ring, ladies!! And I have to tell you the picture does NOT do it justice. Wink and "miracle workers" did a fabulous job and I can't believe I haven't gotten myself into a car wreck yet. Can't take my eyes off of it. Wink is the man to go to for lovely pieces and honest business.
You lucky lady!!! Christine gave me a tip...do not look directly at it , hold your hand where you can see it in review mirror

Hey, how are you?
When I woke up and decided that Less's gift to me was way too special to just post pretty pictures on I decided to use your ring as the BETTER example, especially since you had already told me how much better you liked the finished product than the original design that you thought you wanted. (Of course it helped that you had already told me it was okay to use your picture )I am glad you approve of my thread! Be careful about that driving and admiring your ring simultaneously thing though!
Wink
