Also, to add another guess...I know sometimes with my husband (who broke his back when he was a teen and his friend was drunk driving) has to really load up on pain meds when his back gives him trouble and then he'll be fine the next day. Like you just have to break the pain = tension = more pain cycle?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking...my dh has a bad back and he doesn't take anything daily, but he has several prescriptions that he takes if/when it suddenly freaks out. He dopes up and sleeps a long night and the next day he might not be 100%, but at least he can move and function.

star, I'm so glad you are ok! but if that kind of memory loss happened to me, I think I would be very freaked out. I know that is normal for the drug to cause that, but geez, they didnt even tell you they were going to do something different? if that happened to me, I would be VERY PISSED at them for that. it's good that they called you to check on you though. I guess I'm just a little upset that they didnt even talk to you about it before hand.

In all honesty Keeter I think it was my own fault. I told them several times before don't bother telling me all the details I've had it done here before. After a lengthy time flat on my back and then sitting in the chair in the waiting room my ONLY thought was PUUHLEASZSE can't you get those drugs in my veins any faster?!!!
They honestly could have told me and I wouldn't have been listening! I seriously do remember being very inquisitive when the procedure was finished and kept insisting they weren't done "How is that possible, he left the room" I mean I was SURE I was right but I was wrong as could be.
I have always wondered why those discharge papers say all the stuff they do but now I know it is for very good reason. Had I gone to ER for the pain shot and then on the next day for the block without the muscle relaxers and pill form pain killers I imagine it would have been like the other ones I have had and I would have been much more lucent. I was eating flexeril and darvocet like candy for over 12 hours before the procedure. I haven't needed a pain pill or muscle relaxer since late yesterday afternoon so I'm on the road to recovery!!! Thanks for y'alls concern but I was just higher than a hot air balloon for a while there! Back down to earth now!
