What would you do?
I wanna jump right in that box and dream the history that its seen! I like both of them, but something about the one in that box has my curiosity going and my finger cruising to the "History International" channel!
If all debts were paid off, kids' college funds and retirement funds more existent than they are, and all bills were paid (oh yeah, and that darn kitchen was updated and more functional!), then here's mine:

Yep, that T&Co ring is quite a beauty!
My newest obsession is a super skinny pave solitaire - with a 2.75-3 carat OEC or antique cushion center. I'm talking super-duper skinny - under 2mm. Most likely a Leon...SIGH. One day I'll be able to scratch that Leon itch I'd stack it with a variety of super skinny bands. Claw prongs. Platinum. Not that I don't love what I have, lol, but if money were no object, that's what I'd want.

I would do an extremely simple honkin' EC solitaire... Maaaaaaaaaybe some side baguettes for a HW repro, but I love the idea of the solitaire.... And if it is a square EC, the better! Anyone remember the ring Aidan gave Carrie in SATC? That is my dream ring!!!!
oooh Erica, that sounds incredible. Do you have any idea how much a Leon setting like that would be? The one you described- super thin pave shank... (just curious how much trouble I would like to get into!)

I have asked Leon for a number of quotes on various pave styles, but not this particular style. They ranged from $4k up. That was several months ago, though, and platinum prices are higher, so who knows?!
