Hi all,
I have added a new module to support storefronts inside DiamondBistro.

I installed it and briefly used it - it is, imo, a bit crude but it does seem to work. We'll have to do some additional refining of it I think to be easier to use, but here is how to put it to use for you now.

A - Login to the bistro
B - click under 'my account'
C - click under 'my account information'

At the bottom of this screen (scroll down, past the subscription plan), there is a section for storefront. Click on open/renew a subscription.

Click on OK for the $0.00 payment - that will open a storefront for you (90 days at a time...it will be longer in the future, but since this is under development we may need to make upgrades during renewals).

That should give you a 'storefront' account.

To access your storefront:
click under my account information....in the middle there will be a link for your storefront URL (i.e. diamondbistro.com/store_169.php)...click on that.

You will be taken to your storefront, and on the bottom you will have some options. You can create basic pages (i.e. about me, terms, etc) and also create categories for your items. It has a traffic monitor page so you can see what kind of traffic you are getting.

You can also upload your own logo/slogan as well.

Please give it a whirl, and use this thread for feedback. I am assuming it will auto-add your current listings to the store, but if not, let me know.

Also, I am going to see if we can get a friendlier URLs for the store than the current number scheme.

Anyway, it is very much a feature that is usable, but one that needs more refining...so be patient with it but let me know how it goes.

I created a store on DB yesterday. It was really easy to set up, but I haven't had a chance to use all the features yet. I'll let you know how that goes once I do.

One thing I did notice is that the pages seem to load very slowly, but I don't know if that's just a problem with my browser or not.

Okay, I added categories to my store, but I'm not sure how to move the listings to the proper category. And I don't see how you list a new item in a specific category in your store either?

ETA: I just added a payment & shipping page to my store and that went smoothly.

I also added a welcome message and picture.

Edited again to add that I just listed a new item, and on the listing details page there is now a drop down menu to choose which of your store categories you want to list the item in.

I did it!!! ...thanks to you Rubystarlight and Less. I now have a store on DiamondBistro. Check it out...it was fun making it.
