It would be nice to have the pets in the main cabin of the plane, but I can't put one of ours in a carrier, (if freaks him out), so this is out for my babies. Plus I am not big on trusting my furbabies to anyone other than my in-laws. LOL my in-laws are great and spoil them as much as we do, if not more! They were both rescues and have been through a lot, I can't even entertain the thought of a possibility that someone might be mean to them. Now if they could travel in the main cabin with people, so we could be with them, that would thrill me to know end! LOL I said to dh we could buy six seats, 1 for me, 1 for him and 2 for each dog. So far dh says he doesn't think any airline would go for that!

I have had my eldest dog travel with me in the cabin, but only when I fly first class. The main complaint I have with having dogs fly in the main cabin is they are stuck under a seat, next to people's feet *which alone would make me sick* and it is hot in there. I cannot imagine traveling that way for the long periods of time it takes to get to where we live.
I do think since the airlines are cutting out pets flying, that this is a good solution to those who wish to fly and have pets meet them....

My dogs are also used to the Sherpa bags....mine are rolling, so they are not hard shell kennels, are soft and have privacy windows, lol, and they love going into them..they are open all the time in the house.
I do think for those who want to travel with their larger dogs, and want a better situation for them other than the cargo hold, where pets have died, it is a good situation. I do think all the partners and endorsements this airline has received before even flying is a pretty good sign that the animals will be well taken care of and happy.

one other thing...the pet attendents are to have specialization in pet care.....so that is even better.....that means if there is something going on, they can make an informed decision...and I doubt a flight attendant will know much....

No worries....I certainly understand where you are coming from. I do think it beats air cargo for many locales, and even now, that is being cut back as well. I did have one of my puppies fly here on NW air cargo, and she did very well, but to know someone with animal training and medical certification onboard, that would definately have me look a little closer at it.... With airlines cutting back on pets onboard, some airlines have now cut them out altogether and travel in cargohold is not for me. This may be the only solution for many.
