I have to say, we went to an outdoor charity event on Saturday. I was standing by the blow up slide watching the girls, and up walks the most beautiful great dane!

I am in love with Great danes!! I know they are way bigger than what you are looking for, but they are the sweetest animals ever.

My best friends in Cali have one, and I swear I wish they would send her to me. I miss her so much. Her name is Godiva, she is all black. And has no idea she is as big as she is. She thinks she is a lap dog. LOL!

I love big dogs, especially Labrador retrievers, but unfortunately we don’t have enough room in our apartment, nor do we have a yard, so it’s just not feasible right now. We also like Siberian huskies, they are beautiful. Maybe it would be better to wait until we have more room so we aren’t limited to just small dogs. However, even if we had the room, I’d still be a little worried about having a big dog considering I’m on the small side and kids may enter the picture one day. This decision is getting harder and harder the more I think about it!

Living Conditions
The Great Dane will do okay in an apartment if it is sufficiently exercised. It is relatively inactive indoors and does best with at least a large yard.

my boss had a great dane that was quite ferocious. the dog was VERY aggressive and bit almost everyone it came into contact with: boss's kid's friends, his mom, his wife, the neighbors. i'm just thankful he never brought him to work.

Wow, most of the danes I've been around are docile and almost timid.

Great Danes do make good apartment dogs, as long as they are exercised. In fact when a dane is a pup it is not good for him to do too much running so his bones can develop properly. Um at least I believe that is the reason, I would have to ask my parents to verify. \:\)

We had danes growing up and they truly are gentle giants! <3 They were the biggest babies out of all the breeds we had! My Dane thought he was a lap dog! Nothing like 205 pounds of Great Dane trying to sit in your lap! Since he slept in the bed it was like fighting a grown person for the covers!

As you can tell Great Danes have a special place in my heart but Little Bella because of their size, you being petite and this being your first dog I wouldn't recommend them for you. They are a lot of work as they have special needs due to their size.
