Hi ladies!

Do any of you have pictures of a three stone ring, with OEC stones in, either diamond or CW interlaps, or (to see the comparison) the LY OEC, or near shape/cut?

I have a few posts bookmarked showing the difference between the LY and CW interlaps, but would love to see three stones in each colour set together.

I'm wanting to set a three stone mount, but am torn between three choices - diamond/CW/LY...in OEC. It needs to be interlap for the sizes needed, and wanting particularly OEC stones.

I'm leaning towards LY in OEC interlaps...but wondering about the colour against platinum?

TIA!

Hi I'm sorry I don't have pics. But at one time I had a lightest yellow OEC and a CW OEC, and there is quite a bit of color in the lightest yellow. Especially in the larger stones, mine was 8mm.

check out Lizzie's color chart. You can order any color Interlap from her.

here's a link to my Bistro listing for a 5mm LY OEC: http://diamondbistro.com/image/11635/item.html

i took photos comparing it to a 5mm CW OMC (now sold, or i'd take more photos for you) in various lighting conditions.

they're just loose, so it might not help you too much, but i thought it captured the colour difference fairly well.

personally, unless you truly want a hint of yellow, i'd say LY is too dark to go in platinum.

I agree w/ Dana about the LY color and platinum.

I don't think light yellow is too yellow for platinum. Warmer antique diamonds were set in platinum and they certainly looked good.

Here is my 3 stone light yellow (retangular cushion) Interlap ring set in palladium. I think I asked for Interlap to use the lightest rough in the light yellow range but I can't remember for sure.

I see you're overseas so ordering both sets of colors to compare is probably unrealistic. Maybe someone has both colors in the OEC cut loose they could mail you for a looksee if you pay for postage back & forth?

well, for Very Lightest Yellow... i think it would probably work in platinum.
my Very Lightest Yellow OMC only looks creamy in some lights, while looking yellowy in other lights.
but just regular Lightest Yellow would only work if you always want the stones to show their colour.

Winfield's LY OECs in 14k wg (but not rhodium plated so it looked antique)

I sold it on DB to drlmeadows and then she resold it (I think), so I don't know who has it now.

The ly OECs looked very realistic (ie, looked like old diamonds), but it also convinced me that I don't care for antique rings on me.... sad I know... but it took me two LY OEC rings (one was a solitaire) and one OEC asha to convince me of that... I'm just more into the whiter (G/H) sparkles I guess...

I think they are pretty, but I don't care for the ly color on me.... maybe because I have so much yellow in my skin \:\(

as far as in platinum is concerned, like Dana said, it might show a bit of yellowish hue in some lights, but would probably just be more creamy looking.

I sold the stones and replaced them with moissanites. I wanted the ring to match a band I had. But........the stones were incredible. I would never hesitate to purchase them again. They were very realistic.

Let me clarify - yes, light yellow stones will show color - even the lightest of the light yellow color against ANY white metal. I misundertood and thought you were asking if that color looked bad against platinum. No, I don't think light yellow stones look bad against white metals. But if you don't want any yellow at all or are fearful the white metal might emphasis the yellow of the stone, stick with the Chinese White color. \:\)
