\:D good, huh? i had one of these without strawberries for breakfast. not hungry yet. it's surprisingly very filling!

does your fat free cottage cheese have sugar in it? b/c all the fat free cottage cheese at my grocery store do so i buy the 2% and i haven't gained from that. 1% is too watery and 4% is too rich...makes me feel after eating it.

Yeah, I use the 2% too because of sugar. My plan isnt exact to what pounds and inches says, because I really dont eat meat. I'm replacing with veggie sausage patties, burgers, egg beaters and cottage cheese.

They say you will still lose, just at a slower rate. I'm ok with that since I haven't been able to budge the scale more than 5 lbs lost/then gained back in 3 years since having my son!

I'm definately a believer in the whole "set point" theory because the weight that I have been stuck to is exactly my 9 month preggo weight! No matter what I've done, my body has clung to that number like glue ;1

Another good snack I've found is cottage cheese with cinnamon and truvia-creamy and helps with the sweet tooth cravings for me!

i tried this during my first week and the cinnamon made my blood sugar drop so i had to stop. it WAS tasty, though, and it's SO good with apples!

HI everyone \:\) I'm starting the second week of my third P2 and so far have lost 60 lbs. since March 8th. I'm thrilled with the protocol, because it really works and it is pretty darn easy, too. Not that I don't whine sometimes, but all in all this is what is going to get and keep me healthy for the rest of my life.

Here's a smoothie recipe that I got at over at the happily thinner after forum in the recipe section. It is similar to the one Bling has posted, with a few differences. Like a LOT more spinach, LOL! I know the spinach sounds gross, but it really makes this a meal that will keep you satisfied for a very long time.

At HTA they say you should never ever use fat free cottage cheese, even on P2. The problem with fat free cottage cheeses is that they always have additives such as starches and sugars and preservatives that are not good for this diet -- or any diet IMHO, but you know, your mileage may vary...

I buy Daisy or Friendship brand lowfat 1% or 2% cottage cheese and it has no additives and it tastes really good. When doing P3, I use the full fat version and it is pretty yummy!

Hershey's cocoa powder has 20 cals. per TBS. I like my smoothies to taste really chocolate, so I sometimes use 2 TBS... I love the taste of the berries and cocoa together. Some people swear you cannot taste the spinach, and it really is o.k. tasting to me, but for me it still has a kinda "green" taste if you use the full amount in the recipe. 3 ounces of spinach is a LOT of spinach, LOL! I sometimes just use half that amount, and I don't taste it AT ALL. The addition of the spinach of course adds needed fiber and nutrients. It does make the smoothie look pretty awful, though. DH doesn't like it when I have a smoothie day, because he doesn't like looking at it \:\) I just put it in a tall non see-through container and he doesn't have to see it anymore!

2 batches of these a day will keep you full all day long. I buzz 'em up in the blender with a lot of crushed ice and about a cup of water, and get two tall pretty large servings out of each batch. And you still get to eat another meal that day on top of that!

Phase 2 Smoothie

3 oz raw spinach
5 oz frozen strawberries
3 oz low fat cottage cheese
1 tbsp Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa
2 pkg sweet n low (or other non-sugar sweetener)
Water

Total of 150 Calories -
You could make two of these a day and still have room for at least ONE meal!!! This smoothie twice has almost the amount of protein as the recommended amount of chicken (3.5 oz)!!!

No sugar, but it's not filling. LOL. Good, but I'm still hungry. I have to look at what you're supposed to do when using cottage cheese. I haven't done that yet. I will be buying 2% next though if I do it again.

Thanks for this. I hadn't look it up and this was a nice shortcut! I've been putting spinach/kale/chard/parsley etc in our smoothies for about 8 years and depending on what else you put in you really can't taste it. For instance a banana truly eradicates any green. However, that's not exactly helpful on this protocol!

Off to get more cottage cheese, and this time it WILL be 2%!

Got it. And because my head isn't working...do we measure 100g of lowfat cottage cheese? I'm assuming so. I can't seem to get my act together to figure out a serving. I may just have this for dinner too. For the record, I'm cranky. I shouldn't have started this round on the first day of TOM. Just sayin'.

yes to the 100g, or to the fact that I'm cranky and shouldn't have started? (just kidding-thanks!)
