Has anyone tried Zumba? It's my first time seeing it on video,
and it looks like a ton of fun! I'm not much of a dancer, so I know don't know how this will work w/ me.. LOL! I would look like a bamboo stick forcibly being bent!! I've googled quite a few studios that offer around where I live and it's bloody pricey!!

Here's a link if you don't know what I'm talking about:

They offer the Zumba class at my gym and the girls that do it seem to really enjoy it. I haven't tried it. I have nooooo dancing talent what so ever! According to them, you don't need any though!

I just bought a Zumba dvd set off of e-bay- that way I can do it in the privacy of my own home I am horribly uncoordinated! The set I bought comes with 5 or 6 workouts. I tried the first one today. It was about 55 minutes long and it teaches you how to do the moves, step by step. I feel like I got a pretty good workout just from the intro!

I've never tried it. Curious though... I'm uncoordinated in the dancing dept. lol.

I think I'll stick to spinning.

That looks fun! I found a class not too far from me but they only offer the class a few times a month right now - that's what happens when you live in the boondocks, opportunities are limited. I've sent an email and if it's not too expensive, I might try a class. \:\)

I have - it's so much fun and the best thing of all is you really don't need any prior dance experience at all, nor should you feel intimidated if you are dance "challenged"! It's really all about having fun while getting in a great workout. If you get an enthusiastic teacher, the classes are always packed because word spreads about the fun calorie burn.

As for cost, my local Y offers it for less than what other private clubs would charge.

Oh good, I'm glad you found a place! I find I like live classes so much better than vids. I get more out of it because of the energy from everyone else. \:\)

Same here. I got numerous work out dvds that are just collecting dust! Had I known better, I could've saved all that wasted $$ on a well spent purchase, like an ASHA!! LOL!

And yes, live classes are so much more fun. It's hard to get motivated when you're dancing and what not infront of the tube all on your own!
