I just wanted to put this suggestion out there as something that folks here may not have considered... going the route of a puzzle ring for an engagement or wedding ring. It's only fair since this forum has been tempting me, after so many years of dreaming of going the puzzle ring route, of going with a solid ring instead.

Years ago (back in 2005) I found this ring on puzzlering.com & fell in love with it. I saved the photos which proved to be wise as they no longer offer it. While it is still lovely, I now think it's too big, too wide, too clunky.

Here are the 2 most similar rings they offer now:
6 Band Diamond/Ruby Puzzle Ring
6 Band Tricolor Diamond Puzzle Ring

A few months back I encountered this lovely:

But those aren't the ones that made me NEED to share puzzle rings with you... here are a few from Crystal Realm that blow me away.

Emerald Marquise Puzzle Ring

Marquise Swiss Blue Topaz Puzzle Ring

Guinevere Puzzle Ring with Princess Cut Blue Topaz

Guinevere Royale Puzzle Ring

I'm sure there are also other places to find pretty puzzle rings like these.

One thing to keep in mind with puzzle rings, though, is that the bands are more fragile due to being so much thinner. Plus the nature of them coming apart into 4 pieces makes them likely to be more prone to mishaps. Probably going with a $20 sterling silver ring to learn the puzzle in advance would be a good notion. It took me an afternoon (without any instruction) of playing with one as a teen to figure it out & then for some time after that it was a struggle each time I went to do it. More than a decade later, it's the most natural, automatic thing in the world haha

I Love the idea! If it were possible to get a puzzle ring where the diamonds were burnished into the gold like an etoile, it would be more than fabulous!!!

Hey Sparklee, I'm unfamiliar with the terms you used, could you show me an example (with a regular ring) of what you mean? I'm curious.

Here are some examples of the Etoile "scatter band" style from Tiffany's. Asha and MoissaniteCo both carry the style, too. I would love one in rose gold!

I think Norman Greene is the jeweler behind the Crystal Realm puzzle ring creations, he has the closest thing I can find to etoile style, but it doesn't look quite like what you mean...

I dig it. I totally forgot about puzzle rings; I used to have one when I was a kid and thought is was so cool. These are obviously way cooler than what I had! smile Do you have a particular ring in mind or do you just know that's the style you want?
