lol not that much...c if theyll mark it as a gift then you wont have any..but i paid $55 for a $500 piece plus fedex charges $15 to put the money up front for you...wasnt too bad for this item but theres been a few that were under $5...$15 fee is severly annoying in that case

it depends, UPS charges (a lot) more for brokerage than fedex, so if you can ask whoever is shipping you the items to ship via Fedex I would suggest it.

I think you are only charged Duty/Taxes for purchases over $20, or $60 if marked as a gift... I know when Moissco/Ashadiamonds sent me my ring I did not have to pay very much because they did not mark the full price on the shipping label (which I'm REALLY thankful for), as for the percentage of what you have to pay, it is different in every province... here is a link with some info:

I hope that helps!

I'm in Ontario too - and I've ordered from Asha Diamonds twice now in the last 6 months. Once for my earrings, and once for my wedding set.

Both times we paid a similar amount - about $25 dollars. I was only charged exact Canadian taxes (13%) and no duty. I think it depends on who you're ordering from, who they use to mail it to you, and what they DECLARE THE VALUE to be of your order. I paid taxes based on the declared value of my parcels.

I know Asha Diamonds doesn't declare it a 'gift' when they mail to you, but they DO classify it as "costume jewellery", to deter thieves from breaking into packages. I can't remember what they valued my parcels at, but probably around $200 each, since I know I paid only $25.

The above website that Opaline posted can help, but only if you know what the company you're ordering from will value your parcel at on the forms.

Hope that helps somewhat!
