Wow, I love the setting on the 2ct cushion! Was it from one of the board's vendors?

Hi Shiny, yes. The Asscher is set in BTD's Timeless Halo, normally for cushion cut center. I wasn't sure at first but when Less assured me that it would work despite the difference in shape, I went for it. I'm glad I did, I love the finish product. The ring looks much more amazing IRL, pictures just don't do it justice.

I had it made as RHR but have not really worn it as such so far. I found myself wearing as my 2ndary ering stacked with bands. Both ering look very nice stacked smile

The communication and response from Less and his staff at BTD was superb. I highly recommend them and will continue to be a (happy) client of BTD.

Now I'm starting to really like the 3 ct!! I don't think it would be improbable to some people that I had a 3 ct...since we don't have kids, have been married for 7, and have good jobs. I guess I'm just more concerned on how weird it would look on me. Although I am a size 8, my fingers look smaller than they are. Hmmm....they did contact me and told me they could make a 1.5 and now I'm waiting on pricing on a 2 ct if available. DECISIONS!

Thanks for all the help, everyone!!! I really appreciate it.

You could also order a cheap CZ ring, just to see if you like the look of a 3ct/8mm princess cut ring - maybe this one?

or this one? http://jewelry.hsn.com/absolute-princess...kw|best_sellers

shrinkage already set in on my 3 ct and I thought it was going to be too big. The halo makes it look bigger than it is though.

I say go for the bling! Let me put it this way: when I was first shopping for sims, I was targeting 1.25-1.5ct size because I thought that was most believable for us, given our cars, home, personalities, etc. Then I came across a steal of a deal on a 2ct OMC and that's when I got into antique cuts. I realized that there are places where consumers can buy large diamonds for the same prices as you'd pay retail for smaller stones: ebay, estate sales, pawn shops, auctions, private party, etc. Is it risky? Sure!

But here's my point: if anyone mentions the size or cost, you can always say something like, "Between you and me, we never could have bought a diamond this big, but then we had an opportunity to buy a diamond from [insert source: estate sale, auction, etc.] and it was such a steal, we couldn't pass it up! It cost less than most 1 carats!"

Alternately, you can say you inherited the diamond from a relative, or that you saved for it for a number of years, etc. There are countless valid "reasons" that someone could wear a diamond larger than expected.

Take me, for instance! My position in life hasn't changed, but I now wear a 9mm diamond, and could easily wear a 5ct if I wanted to, and no one would question it because that's just how I roll, lol, big diamonds smile

I pulled off a 2CT with a halo (see photo to left) and constantly had peoples heads turning smile I think if you feel comfortable with the 3, go for it but if you have any reservations about people questioning you I'd say go a half size down or so. It will for sure draw a lot attention.

I just bought the same ring enchant in a 3 carat princess. My ring finger size is a 3.5.

If you are a size 8, a 3 carat will look more like a 2 carat, maybe even a 1.5 carat. Don't worry about it. I looked at the Pricescope pics and all the people that had 1 carat rings on, their fingers looked bigger than the ones that had the 3 carats on.
