As promised, we've been working on an improved Moissanite offering that we are trademarking Mira, and have succeeded in one aspect, namely the cut. We are continuing to work on the color side.

Thus, its my pleasure to give you a short, sneak look at Mira(tm):

That change was simply done by the cut? Wow Less you and your folks really know what you are doing. Very impressive. ~Red

Here are some short quick answers to likely questions:

1 - What about the color enhancement:
It is still underway and we have made some headway but it is not ready currently. If we do not succeed, we will fall back to Serenity's enhancement so Mira will be color enhanced one way or another.

2 - Does Charles and Colvard know you are working on Mira?
Yes.

3 - What will this cost?
A lot. The Mira round is made by taking a 1-2 size larger regular round Moissy and completely revamping it...so 20-30% of the original moissy is lost in order to achieve its look, plus the inherent labor of doing a very difficult cut.

Thus, its not going to be cost competitive with an equivalent moissanite, basically for the same reasons an H&A round is not cost competitive with a standard round brilliant diamond (much smaller finished product, much higher labor, in exchange for much better light return/beauty).

We won't know final pricing until we have a final product and that is waiting on the color enhancement side currently, and we are in some discussions with Charles and Colvard directly about it so there may be some ability to improve the price point there.

Anyway, Mira is basically our effort to try and not just match diamond, but outdo it by capitalizing on Moissanite's optics and at the same time, correcting what we feel are its weak points in comparison to diamond (cut and color).

With the Mira cutting, it produces a much more diamond-like look in terms of the light handling, the faceting, etc. It has bolder flashes and the arrows can be seen occasionally just moving it around with the naked eye.

Mira will be sold with individual grading reports and all will be laser engraved, so its really a premium product focusing on what we hope will produce another 'Better Than Diamond' product (pun...get it

We are currently producing a small set of Miras from 6.5mm - 8mm so that these will be ready for color enhancement...and after that independent grading. Then we'll get some more photos/videos and even start offering the first Mira's for sale.

From what I can see in these pictures, double-refraction will be a thing of the past?
The cutting in the Mira is astonishingly beautiful and crisp.
I hope the enhancement will be a success...can't wait to see the Mira IRL

Lol Less you just reminded me soooooo much of my husband same type of pun he would make. I know the particulars aren't decided as far as pricing but are we to presume that the cost of Mira will still be less than Takara diamonds? ~Red
