Question ; When BTD ordered a batch of Moissy and deciphered the colour grading ... were these unenhanced stones??

1 - Color - We recently had two different batches of 7mm and 7.5mm Moissanite rounds graded using the GIA diamond color scale (Feb, 2011). The color was K color or L color depending on the batch.

While Moissanite sellers normally claim that Moissanite is "Near Colorless", K and L color are not near colorless on the GIA diamond grading scale. In fact, K, L, M are graded as "Faint Color" and in terms of diamond color grading, would be termed "Faint Color" for 1ct+ stones.

K color is where tinting is normally visible with the naked eye, and prices for K color diamonds can easily be half those of G color diamonds. This is almost certainly why Moissanite sellers do not normally offer an independent color grading for moissanite since most customers do not want to purchase a K color stone.

Hey mermaid,..you and I have been in the same circumstance!!
We are both ready to buy,..but dumb Mira messed it up!!
I have decided to go with an enhanced moissy,..as I think Mira sounds like it will be too much moola for me.
People have been really happy with the enhanced! I will let you know!!

Doesn't the enhancement bring it to about an I color?

C&C make moissanite. They are the only supplier of moissanite to retailers. All retailers that sell moissy (Moissanite Co etc) get it from C&C.
BTD purchased those moissanite stones from C&C. BTD is the maker of Asha, so they sell Asha of course. Moissanite Co and Asha Diamonds are owned by the same people. So they buy theor Asha from BTD, and moissy from C&C. Essentially, they are competitors, with regards to Asha but it never really seems like that.

I think I read that BTD used to sell moissy. For whatever reasons they stopped. If they start to sell it again iwth Mira, then both companies will sell both products.

I think it depends who you ask. The fact is that the enhanced has never been graded. On the Moissanite Co live chat, I asked spefically, and I was told it was NEAR near colourless...meaning J maybe...but since it isn't graded no one knows for sure. Now they say that they can't grade it, but now since Less has already had some graded we know that to be untrue. So perhaps, when Mira is ready and BTD has it graded, MoissCo will follow suit.

When you say both companies will sell Mira do you mean Moissco and BTD ? because when I asked Moissco they said it was a BTD product and to contact BTD about it ..ect

Sorry, no. What I meant was BTD will sell Mira and MoissCo will sell regular moissanite...with what ever enhancements they chose to offer.
