LOL! I just read that thread and thought - oh, there's an example for the other thread! I guess my only question would be - is that the norm for Asha or did she get a lemon, as it sounds like her stone may not be performing like one would expect?

That's why I really hope Blingaholic sees this thread as she is a big princess cut fan and I believe has owned a few princess cuts. She is the best person to comment on how they look.

Sparklee, maybe I'm getting confused but I checked my two asha videos and they seem to have the same darkish areas as goblue's Quorri.

I've never closely examined a real PC diamond. I should do that one day to see if there is a difference with my asha.

I didn't want to keep getting in to it, but even the princess cut asha on the BTD website has the dark areas, so I don't get why that's even a concern.

I think Sparklee is saying the princess cut in general, be it Asha, Wink, sitaragem/quorri, etc. has the dark areas, and that is why she is not fond of the princess facets.

Makes a lot of sense. If I was more fond of a round cut, due to it's more sparkly-known qualities, I would have gone for one.

If I had to guess, I would say the dark spots are probably characteristic to princesses just as the "bow-tie effect" seems to creep up in pear cuts.

Thanks...I always wondered if it was. I have a 7.5 ring size and the size of the princess is 1 carat. I guess we could've gone bigger, but I felt weird...My first order was a 1.2 cushion and my finger was totally overwhelmed!
