Hi all!

I'm proud to present the newest addition to our Signature Line of settings, the "Bella" halo. Like the Gabbie, with this design we were striving to create a halo that is different than others on the market.

Hope you love it as much as we do. Pictured below in both white and rose gold. I'm going to be resetting my 9mm OEC into the rose gold version

And, because CAD's are so magnified and chunky, here are pics of the halo reduced to near-actual size for scale (not quite, just measured and the stone in the reduced CAD is about 11-12mm instead of 9mm, lol, but you get the picture!):

Last but not least, here's a version we did in 2-tone (rose and white) without the tapered shoulders, with no milgrain in the halo, using pink melee. I THINK I prefer the milgrained cathedral version, but there may be some who prefer it this way and I thought I'd post it for comparison. The possibilities are endless!

The two-tone gives it more of a floral effect. They are all soooo beautiful.

I also want to call out that JbEG milgrain is very subtle and dainty. CAD's make it look a little bulky and distracting, but I promise it does not compete or overwhelm the ring! It's a very delicate and beautiful addition for those of us who adore milgrain.

That's so true! It's veeeery subtle and delicate in person. CAD's are just terrible at showing it!

I do love the two-tone also - I haven't pulled the trigger yet on my personal order because I'm so torn!

I'm interested to know what folks think of the tapered shoulders versus no shoulders versions. I go back and forth and love both!

I'm also torn, which is why I didn't comment on it! The taper is great at transitioning the halo and the band, but the non-taper really lets the halo take center stage.

I also think it would be cool if the halo & shank were white gold, but the basket was rose gold. A rosey surprise whenever the ring tilts.

I feel like the two tone really emphasized the beautiful hearts in the basket, you know?

Doing the halo and shank in white, but the basket in rose gold is a cool idea, milady! I've been wanting to halo my OEC to give it a size boost, but fear that the rose, while beautiful and really bringing attention to the center stone, won't accomplish that.

But your idea would give me the best of both worlds!

I would think the tapered shoulders would give the ring more stability for everyday wear. Without it vaguely gives me the impression of a cocktail ring. Not the tacky, cheap ones but the ones my mother kept in her jewel box for occasions. ~Red

If you want your ginormous 9mm diamond to look bigger *ahem* then I definitely think you should make the halo white gold (or platinum, since I know you prefer heavy rings). The whiteness of the halo visually extends the look of the diamond; the rose gold halo would make the diamond end abrubtly into the halo because of the color contrast. I would sneak the rose gold underneath so it's only on the basket if your goal is to make your diamond look bigger.

I am actually very content with the size of the stone, but shrinkage is a nasty bugger and I would get a bit of a thrill with that extra size boost a halo would give. But I am just enamored with the rose gold, too. Love the face up look of it - your eye just goes right to that OEC and it's a great way of flaunting the stone.

I'll see if our jeweler can render the cathedral version with a white halo and shank and rose basket, and the reverse - rose gold halo and shank with white basket.

I know there are lots of doggie lovers here and I just wanted to give a brief explanation of the name "Bella". We initially planned to name this the "Paisley" halo, for obvious reasons, but while we were in the midst of designing this concept, my brother's beloved pit bull mix, Bella, passed away.

She was older - more than 10, and had been in great health until her spleen ruptured. My bro spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on emergency surgery and post op critical care, and she was doing great! They diagnosed her with a very aggressive form of cancer, but he was willing to spend thousands more in order to buy her some time with Chemo. About 2 days after she came home from surgery, however, she passed away suddenly and peacefully during the night. It's a mystery what happened and they were devastated.

My brother and his partner have no children, but they do have 5 beloved rescue dogs and Bella was truly his baby and the one he was closest to. I couldn't do anything for him, but I did tell him we'd name our next setting "Bella" and he was really touched, so that's why we now have the "Bella" halo!

Oh, and for what it's worth, Bella was a very girly girl. She quite literally sashayed when she walked, and if she wanted your attention she'd just sit on you until she got her way. LOL, she was quite a character

Erica, what is the width of the halo? Does it add 1mm all the way around (so if the center stone was 8mm, then the face-up total w/ halo would be 10mm)?

haha im glad im not the only one :D, for me bella combines my 2 favorite rings, julia and gabbie, julias tapered shank, and gabbies floral halo and really ive been debating over halo and solitaire for well a long time, never thought i could combine them and come out with something like that!!

Bella also has Sophie's fleur basket! It's just a bedazzled version. I LOVE this ring!! The more I look at the details, the more I love it (just like all JbEG rings). *sigh*

Wow this setting is so so amazing! I've been extremely distraught over the fact that Lily can't be set with ashas so this may be the answer for me! I absolutely love it and I thought I wouldn't love anything after Lily!

Interesting! I actually like the rose gold halo & shank with the white gold basket the best. It gives it more of a floaty effect.

I thought I would like the rose gold basket the best (with WG halo & shank), but it looks too bottom heavy or intrusive. It kinda loses the dainty feeling, ya know?

I agree, milady, that's why CAD's are so useful. In my mind, I would have thought the white with rose basket would look a certain way, but in the cad's it's not speaking to me.

Do we get to vote on your ring, Erica? I vote rose with the white basket. For some reason I think the white basket emphasises the diamond more. I love love love rose gold, so I like the fully Rose ring, too, but the one with the white basket looks... airier? daintier? ethreal?

Pricing!

$3,400 in platinum, $3,150 in single or two tone gold, $2,925 in palladium. This is for white melee and includes CAD renderings and overnight insured shipping of the finished ring. As pictured (for a 9mm center stone) the setting has approximately 0.45ctw, but is a bit more expensive than Gabbie because labor is higher - this ring has to be cast in 3 parts and hand assembled, plus the prongs added by hand. So it's sort of a hybrid between cast and handcrafted.

hehe see my guesstimate was pretty bang on i love the 2tone gold, but wondered how you replate a 2tone piece?? the jewelers in my area are a bunch of retards, so if its complicated i might have a problem..

they resized an $800 gold costco ring for my mom and theres a 2 gaps/cracks where it was resized.. like seriously they cant even handle resizing one size, and my moms wedding band was 2tone white and yellow gold and she had it resized and it came back just yellow gold..so u see myconcern

I'm with Red. Love miligrain, but worry that with time it won't appear as crisp and beautiful anymore.. Hmm..

I've seen antique rings that are 80+ years old and the milgrain is still going strong, even in gold. I'm confident that the milgrain would look beautiful for a very long time, although there is no question that platinum and palladium will hold their detail much longer. Gold is softer, so it will wear over time, which also applies to prongs, shanks, engraving, etc., not just milgrain. It adds character to a piece, IMO.

That being said, for an heirloom piece to last many generations, go with platinum. But the way I think of it is that I will eventually want to reset my stone anyway, once my taste changes. And I can only assume that my daughter will feel the same way - inheriting the diamond but is free to reset it into anything she likes.

Many, many, many people wear gold wedding rings, so I say get what you like, wear the heck out of it, and when you tire of it or it looks old and sad, lol, RESET!

I agree, Wench! I love all of the metal versions and combos, but something about the rose gold with white basket just feels so rich and unique. And I think it will be an ideal combo for my K colored center stone. The stone's leaky spots will pick up the white metal from the basket, brightening it up, but the rose gold shank and halo will add beautiful contrast and, hopefully, bring out those chunky pastel facet reflections we love and give the K color a little boost.

This is the ring, and I think that platinum is too white for this diamond, especially in office lighting.

It is gorgeous Erica I love rose gold and don't envy making the choice between polished or satin. Will minor scratches show worse in one of the finishes? My mind would be made up based on that info. Hope you love this beautiful ring for a long time (am I too late for shotgun?)~Red

I'm going to leave it polished so that we can have one of each type of rose gold on the site (polished and satin) and also because I love the brightness of the metal in the video. I'll post pics and real life video clips once it arrives!

I just love the color of our jeweler's rose gold. I don't know what his special blend is, lol, but it's an incredibly rich coppery color. I'm excited to see the polished version - it looks really pink in the video!

Erica, the ring is gorgeous. what are the specs on that diamond? I like the mounting, and am considering it for my J/K European cut. But I might want the halo just a teenier bit wider. or else recess the diamond down it it a bit.

The center is a 9mm GIA K, VS OEC. Here's a side view, awful indoor lighting, will post better outside pics, but you can see how the stone is set with the halo almost flush with the girdle:

Lovely! The video cleared up my question of how the stone fits. I think what I want is a bit of an airline between my stone, 7.8mm and the start of the milgrain inner edge of the halo. Could that same size halo for your milgrain accommodate a 7.8mm? That might be too much difference, maybe?

I looked at some semi mounts at a local jeweler, and mind you, they have just now started offering white metals and halo mountings here. I described my diamond, and said it's J or possibly K color, and I want YG or rose gold ,and a halo style ring.

Clerk said "That will make your stone look more yellow."

Me: "Yes, but a J or K *is* yellow to me, and I don't wear it because it's set in platinum and the stone is too tinted for that white metal, especially in office lighting."

She then told me that diamond would not look right in a semimount because those all have E/F color pave and that's too white for my diamond. I said "I don't think so, because I have an M color diamond in a mounting with whiter sidestones, and there were a lot of antique diamonds of very warm color deliberately set in platinum with very white sidestones, so there's a historical precedent for doing that; it's just a different look."

Clerk looked at me like I had two heads, lol. I am glad I can always talk to the Internet people. Sigh. Why do I waste my gasoline and time, locally. lol

I took more pics of the ring! We have awful crummy rain here today, so the pics are mediocre, but you can see how beautifully the rose gold compliments the K color of the diamond. I love it!

I also realized that my beloved engraved antique eternity band doesn't look nearly as pretty as our new bezel diamond eternity band, so I may have to get one for myself

I need a suggestion you guys. I'm thinking of having my 8mm peachy pink moissanite set into a bella halo. I was thinking it would look better in the white gold with the undercarriage portion being in rose gold so that the pink would pop.

I played with my stone around different band colours and near white stones, and I actually like it best beside white stones and white metal... It really does take the center stage then and the contrast is beautiful to me. Set on rose gold, it had a very different effect and it took on a very whimsical feel.

If you set in in rose gold, do you have a "family" to wear with it? I know you like to wear groupings; or would you just mix metals? I think it is really a personal preference as they are toally different looks. I lOVE rose gold and thought I would want to use it with my stone as well, but I don't likt it as much when I actually have my stone with it. It is all just very pink. Certainly rich looking though.

I know this isn't hugely helpful, but here is a peachy pink sapphire of similar colour. Would you do pink melee in the rose gold halo or white?

The rose gold bella is beautiful in it's own right. BUT if it's all a wash of the same colour, neither the beautiful peach/pink of the stone OR the workmanship of the ring get to be noticed. With the colour pop, people will notice the stone, then on a closer look, they get treated to a fantastic display of workmanship.

Love the idea of the rose gold under the basket. That will be a stunning work of art.

I just asked for it to all be written up! At this point, I think a rose gold halo & basket (not sure about the doughnut throwing the look completely off), palladium shank & shoulders. I might upgrade to having the "Anya" pattern of diamonds on the shank because we are having an Anya band made up as well. It just depends how it will look. I just got my 9mm concave kashmir in the mail yesterday, so it's all lining up to be awesome. I can't wait to post pics!

I never saw this thread before, not sure how, but that ring is quite possibly one of the prettiest rings I've seen. Every combo of it is gorgeous.
