It is going GREAT!!! I feel sooo good, Im cooking these FANTASTIC meals and I dont have any cravings!!! It honestly doesnt feel like I am on a diet. I am not bloated anymore, and my clothes are fitting so much better...I havent lost any weight yet but they said that is normal...I shouldnt see that until the 3-4th week into..but my clothes aren't tight anymore and I can see a transformation in my body. I really love what we are doing and like I said it honestly doesnt feel like a diet, we arent depriving ourselves of anything, and we eat more times a day so in the long run we aren't hungry. I made a choclate cream pie for desert yesterday and it was YUUUMMMMYYY...I used fat free milk and fat free sugar free chocolate pudding and put in a low fat graham cracker pie crust and topped with sugar free Cool Whip....OHMYGOD..you couldnt tell it was healthy, it tasted just like the real deal!! So that should last us the week!!!

Thank you for asking and I will continue to update!~!! I cant wait to post before and after pics!!!

IBChick, it's wonderful that you are so full of pep and energy...but I would just like to be the voice of cynicism (I'm a science major, I gotta feel like this insane amount of schoolwork is to some end) - fat free, sugar free stuff and processed food is not good for you. It can be used as a tool to get you out of a junk food lifestyle, but is really not good for you long term. Weird diseases and new types of cancer keep popping up, and it's because of our incredibly chemical laden modern lifestyle.

Okay, I'm done. I am DELIGHTED that you're feeling good.

Hi IB! I am glad it is going so well for you! Can you please post that link again? Also do you have to sign up on the site? If so is there a meal planner or something to help you get started? I am such a diet dunce right now. I have put on quite a bit of weight the last few months due to an enormous amount of stress plus I just out feel blah.

Thanks for your help!

I am not eating a low fat, low sugar diet at all! When I made the chocolate pie I used the no sugar products. And we eat a slice of it. Its not like I am cooking everyday with no sugar products....not at all!!

This "diet" wants you to cut out the fat in your diet and EAT MORE a day to get your metabolism going....it is not at all depriving you and if DH and I want a slice of white bread we EAT a slice of white bread... The point is to not eat a candy bar....which I have done soo many times before this diet, I was a CHOCOLATE addict, sugar addict etc. My diet was out of control. I would live on Starbucks until dinner and then eat this HUGE dinner before I went to bed and lots of sugar too!! THis wasnt working, then I talked to my BIL and he told me about BFL and I decided to look into it...it sounded good to me so I decided to do it. And I honestly have never felt better!! You eat 6 times a day. Snacking, healthy. No chocolate, no sweets, and with me I thought I would NEED them..I DONT!!! I have never not had a craving before and I dont!! When you eat more times a day not only are you speeding up your metabolism and burning fat, you are balaning your blood sugar levels where Im not tired, craving, or fatigued. I will give you a sample day below. So yes you are eating lean meat and cutting out fat, substituting whole wheat for white bread (flour, starch, white etc...contain sugars which turn into fat, your body doesn't process them) It is sorta like the Oprah diet, I havent eaten starches or white flour etc... And it is a low sugar diet since you arent eating the junk food or whites, candy etc...but as to eating a low sugar jelly or low sugar pudding for desert there is NOTHING wrong with that, if you have a balanced diet, there are diabetics eating low sugar foods. And it isnt meant to get you out of a craving crunch, you are substituting calories and and SUGAR which turns into fat. There are so many myths out there about everything, I mean I swear we think something is good for you and then the next year we find out it causes cancer...GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Our bodies are very complicated and until you study how your body digests and stores food then you can have a good knowledge of what and what not to put into it.

SAMPLE DAY
BREAKFAST Eggbeater cupcake with whole wheat toast (I cant believe its not butter spray and sugar free jam)

SNACK Cottage cheese and fruit

Lunch Turkey, lettuce, tomato, low fat mayo on whole wheat bread (or whole wheat pita)

Snack Carrots and Peanut butter

Dinner Chicken and portabella mushroom whole wheat pasta ( I got this from my vegetarian cookbook and added the chicken for protein) it was AMZING..I used portabella, green peppers, 1 can no salt added diced tomatoes for the sauce, broccli and seasoned with garlic, oregano, italian seasoning and basil...OHMYGOD it was sooooo good!!!

Desert Fruit or I made a chocolate pie, so one slice of that.

So that is just one type of day that we had, there are sooo many receipes that are soooo GOOD!! And I have a vegetarian cookbook that I look at also. Its all about eating good and not feeling like you are deprived. Tonight Im making chili!! You have to eat a protein and a carb together for most of your meals. Its ALOT of pre planning, and only shop for the week. This way your veggies will be fresh and you wont be tempted to get off of your dchedule. We do have a cheat day which is Saturday and we can eat WHATEVER we want...Im talking chocolate to pizza to McD's etc..what is funny though is last week for our cheat day we were really good!! Not because we didnt want to cheat but because you arent that hungry to eat a huge meal and I felt guilty..even though you can cheat and still lose weight..I just was half bad that day.

Okay sorry so long but if you guys have questions just ask!!

That sounds like a great plan!

I totally know what you mean about just living on Starbucks all day, and then eating your big meal before bed. Not to be melodramatic, but I was anorexic for years, and really ate like crap. Totally fouled up my metabolism, and I had a very screwed up notion of 'food'.

I now live a life- not a DIET, but a LIFESTYLE, that is very much like the program you are describing.

I eat every 3 hours, minimum. I never go more than 4 without a meal or snack. I avoid anything white (sugar, flour) and processed. I eat protein with every meal, and as many fruits and vegs as I can. I have lots of good, steady energy, my body looks the way it should, and my skin is clear. It's taken me a loooooong time to get here, I'm so glad you feel good!

Well coming from soneone who was anorexic also, I know where YOU are oming from also..you sound like your are eating what Im eating...and I do feel wonderful!! It is hard for me to have a "positive self image" I know that I might never feel that I look good...I mean I know I look good...its hard to explain. I try to stay away from diets and look for a healthier way of living and I think I have found it...this is something I can do continuously.

Exactly. We need life plans, not diets.

I really am doing quite well. When I'm stressed out I start restricting, but my husband is aware and tactful enough now to be able to gently point out what I'm doing. Just the other day I was feeling very low, fat and gross. I happened to come across a group picture taken 10 Christmases ago, when I weighed about 85lbs and was on the verge of suicide. It was a vivid reminder that I was not happy when I was skinny. Quite the opposite.

You are a beautiful woman, with a fantastic spirit, and you deserve to be happy. I'm so glad this is working for you, and your body will be in tip top shape for when you have your baby.
