WHAT woman would not TULLY want a real expensive diamond!!
Yes she wont mind a cheaper stone, but if she is given an expensive one she is not gonna argue, that being said, I doubt that she just LIKES an ASHA or MIRA better!!!!!
Anyway, buying what he want which is the best, and make a girl happy is not gonna cause an argument, not getting something that both want MIGHT Hi, nice to meet you. I'm a sci-fi nerd, and I want the shiny space rock made out of science and rainbows. Diamonds are pretty and everything, but they just don't do it for me. ^this

I can honestly say, George, most women I know personally "would" want an expensive diamond rather than a sim, IF it did not cause financial hardship. I know I definately would want the diamond if it were me. I love 'em, I can't help it! Nothing sparkles quite like a well cut diamond, IMHO. So, as for me, I had rather have a .50ct quality diamond than a 2ct sim. Does that make me a bad person, a materialistic person, an unreasonable person? I think not. By the same token, if someone prefers a nice sim instead of a diamond, that's fine as well. (They are gorgeous!) I can totally understand the young lady not wanting her FI to make such an expensive purchase when they could spend the money otherwise, and I understand him wanting to get her a nice diamond. I hope they worked out something pleasing to the both of them!

when buying diamonds you should keep in mind diamonds go by an international price list called the RAPPAPORT PRICE LIST. all diamonds are sold by this price list usually from the list price upto -20 below the price because of fluerescence or bad makes. if you purchase youre diamonds from a jewellery retailers or diamond wholesaler like me you should not be worried about losing youre money as the rappaport price list does not change frequently and holds its price for a long time.
i have an diamond trading office in antwerp for over 10 years and clients and comming back to me selling the diamonds they have bought 5 years ago for a profit and buying bigger ones instead.

GrishaDiam, I do have to wonder, if your clients came back wanting to sell you their diamonds from years ago, would you really pay them, in cash, more than they had paid for those diamonds? Especially if say they were not going to buy a bigger one off you, ever? While diamonds are sold by the Rappaport list, that does not make them any more than a semi-precious gemstone (via quanitity), and just because the Rappaport list says what a diamond is "worth", does not mean you will get anywhere near that amount of money for a used diamond.

I agree. I knew a pawn shop owner who offered me a diamond at Rappaport price. I declined and bought a better diamond (another pawn shop) for 60% of what he quoted me. For me if I am going to pay Rapport prices I will go to an online vendor who has a good return policy and lab report. I am not saying it is wrong to demand Rappaport prices but if you look on the secondary market you can usually pay way under those prices.

Jumping in a little late with my two cents; First cent: I have bought a diamond on eBay that truely did appraise and resell for double what I paid for it. Second cent: Im not majority by any means but I for one wouldn't want an all natural diamond over a stimulant. I know there are conflict free diamonds, but still believe that perpetuating the diamond trend still points buisness to the blood diamonds since most can't afford the higher prices and don't know or don't care what their buisness is doing. I will take space rock and rainbows any day over human suffering and death Ok dismounting the soap box
