HI all, Just saw this thread and have to leave now for a meeting but some quick points:
Based solely on the two photos, obviously the Mira looks a lot warmer than an I color, and I don't have a good explanation for it...however:
1 - The Mira was graded at NAGL under diamond lighting as an I color. However, its unclear what lighting this photo was taken under and sometimes lighting (esp fluouresecent with poor CRI) will affect moissanite's color, sometimes dramatically. Hync will hopefully report more on how it looks in other lighting, esp. daylight.
2 - NAGL has a former GIA diamond grader doing their grading...so please stop with the defamatory comments about NAGL based solely on two photos with unknown lighting.
3 - The two stones on either side are also much more 'side view' vs. the Mira is more face up. Its not clear if there was something else in the surroundings that is thus being reflected in the face up Mira vs. the other's not as much due to side view?
Anyway, if you aren't pleased with it, definitely send it back!
Thats why we have a 40 day return policy. We have another 10mm Mira in grading now, and it certainly looks much whiter than these photos.
Hync - why don't you email our support and lets see if we can send out another 10mm Mira to compare against. I really have no explanation how it could look that yellow as your photos show.
Hope that helps, Less

That 10mm Mira looks like the one I just recently sent back. I also ordered a 10mm although I already own a 10mm unenhanced stone. I wanted to replace it with the Mira. When I first saw the Mira I thought it looked very white. However, when I compared it with my stone they looked similar in certain lighting conditions. There was not that much of a difference for me to spend twice the money on the Mira. I knew it was supposed to be an I color and I wanted that. In some lighting it looks fabulous but so does my unenhanced stone which I've worn for years in a diamond semi-mount with G color diamonds. If I didn't already own the same size I would have kept it. Perhaps the smaller stones are much whiter, but not the 10mm.

Thanks Less! I may email them but I'll keep that off of this thread. I really want to keep a mira and I have a setting picked out and everything! Anyway I wanted to update with a couple pictures with more natural lighting: Daylight non direct sun Direct sun In my opinion both of these look much better than in my living room lighting this morning. I tried not to put any with a flash up here because any light like that on a moissanite and it's fabulously blinding lol. I do want to point out to everyone though that there was no green whatsoever at any point today in this stone, which I did use to see with my enhanced moissy.

The new pics look much better, imo. The first, if your stone wasn't right beside it, I would say the moissy is white. It does show warmth beside your diamond, but your diamond is set...so that would be expected. The second pic does show more colour, for sure, but it is nothing like your first pics.

Thanks for the addtl photos - that looks far more like what I would expect and I think clarifies much better why it would grade as an I color... That said, no idea why it would fluoresce that beige-yellow like that in the first photos - what kind of lighting was there in that photo? Also, I sent the photos to NAGL and their first comment was "what the he**?" when they saw it. And they did clarify that both their graders are former GIA graders. Best regards Less

Omg! UPS just dropped off the most beautiful ring. It looks nothing like your 10mm. It is super duper white!!!!!!! It's way whiter then the 8mm enhanced stone I used to own. my ering is a gia E color and it looks great next to it. No one would ever guess it was not a diamond. Face up it looks like a G next to my diamond. The platinum setting looks superb. Thank you Less. I'll start a thread tomorrow with pics as I have to take the kids out now. Excellent, that is great to hear! Best regards Less
