http://blog.schubachstore.com/2011/06/tms-octagon-halo.htmlCheck out the video of my finished e-ring.
Ok, here's the story. I saw the video for my ering today from Schubach. (before Beth even sent me an e-mail because I was stalking the website, haha.)
When I first saw it I was in LOVE. But then I noticed that the gold wasn't delicately milgrained like I had asked for. Looking at it over and over again with my BF, we decided that we really liked it and didn't think the lack of milgraining took away from the ring so we'd keep it as is.
Then I saw the e-mail from Beth at Schubach's and she also saw right away that the ring came back from the goldsmith without the milgraining and she was upset about it. And also, Joe had said he wasn't happy with the top of the ring because it's not perfectly symmetrical - I can't really tell from the video if this is obvious or not.
Ok, so after the long story, here is the question. They are sending the ring and my BF will give it to me at some point soon - I have no idea, he wants it to be a surprise. Now, I'm ok with the lack of milgraining, I think it's beautiful without it. But I really think if it's obviously not symmetrical it will bug me. IF I need to send it back for the top to be redone, should I keep it smooth or go with the delicate milgraining?
Opinions would be greatly appreciated. I know it's going to be really difficult to send the ring back if needed once I get it. I'll miss it so much!
As a side note, Schubach's has been wonderful as always wanting to make everything perfect and Beth was not happy about the mix up with the goldsmith. And I also believe they thought this design wouldn't turn out to be as complicated as it has been with the symmetry issues. If it's sent back Joe said he'll definitely want to do a CAD design to make sure it's perfect. This question in no way is a slam on Schubach's, they're terrific.
I just don't know what to do.
