Hi all,
Its Friday and wanted to post the usual weekly summary.
1 - We were able to process a fair number of rounds and so many of the sold out sizes (8mm, 9mm, etc) will be restocking this coming Monday.
2 - Cushions - we have pre-screened a pretty large batch (most passed this time) and those will be treated end of next week. We're expanding the sizes to include 6mm, 6.5mm, etc. with this run.
These cushions should be ready around Aug 17th or so.
3 - Princess - we're going to try a few princess cuts after the cushions are done and see how those do.
On more general topics: I asked NAGL to go ahead and cert two of the raw Moissanite cushions so we could document what Charles and Colvard bills as 'near colorless'. Thus, here are two sample certs of regular moissanite cushions:

and a 7.5mm that was definitely the lowest color of the rejects from the first pre-screen:
We had a mishap at the office where one of our staff was not aware of what was arriving and pulled only some of the Mira's out of the box. Thus 7 Mira's that arrived from the grading lab were accidentally tossed out in the trash and were not recoverable. That was pretty awful.
But, if you are in Washington and see some crows or bluejays flying around sporting some impressive sparklies, you'll know they found the Mira's in the landfill.
We are continuing to do some background work to prepare for the eventual launch of H&A Mira's outside the US, and our automation at our lab is paying off now.
Lastly, I've been deliberating on either posting some info on the fundamentals of Moissanite and Mira to answer common questions I see, or perhaps making some basic videos that might help people learn more about SiC in general and more specifically about what is Mira exactly.
We have had some discussions with a university and we are looking at having them do some testing on both Mira vs. untreated Moissanite to help show that the treatment either does not change the durability or possibly slightly improves it to counter C&C's apparent strategy of FUD regarding Mira (fear, uncertainty and doubt).
Have a good weekend,
