Do you change your polish because it starts to look like it needs to be changed, or because you like to have different polish every few days? I want my mani to last as long as possible; I don't have the time to do it every few days. And wet nail polish is a disaster for me. I do not have the time to sit and let it dry hour hours. So for those reasons, Gelish is amazing. The added bonus that my nails are now long and natural, without any damage...well, it is really too perfect.

well, it would be a pain to have to soak off every few days, and just not good for you. here are my nails after about 4 months of Gelish though, and right before I did Gelish I took of gel sculptures, so they were soooo damaged.

Hello, all. I'm new to doing the Gelish thing at home. Love the effect in the salon. Hoping someone out there can answer this. I bought the Mini UV Light from Sally's. http://www.sallybeauty.com/gelish-mini-light/SBS-724850,default,pd.html All reviews, and the girl in the store, say it will work on batteries, but burns out quickly. You really need the AC adaptor, which everyone is out of. Radio Shack is HAPPY to sell me one, but nowhere on the light package or website can I find the specifications. SOOO...if anyone has purchased the AC adaptor that goes with this thing, could you please look at yours and tell me the specs?? It is 6V. What I need is the amperage. That will be a "mA" number. Make sense??

I just got home from SALLY"s. I bought all the supply's to do my first gelish manicure. I have been reading/thinking about doing this for awhile now. I have really pitiful natural nails, as a result I have worn acrylics most of my adult life. The last time I had a set removed my nails were so thin they were painful!! I have taken about 7 months off of all products and have been taking some suppliments to try to get my nails to a somewhat healthy state ( for me). They aren't bad, but are still too weak to grow beyond the fingertip with out getting broken. SO, what should I expect from my first gelish maincure? How much time should I set aside? I hope this works out for me! I have always wanted pretty nails

Hey guys I though I would chime in again on this thread. Here are my nails after 15 months of Gelish. I did take a break after 8 months for a few weeks and just used regular polish. I posted on another thread with my bare nails and thought it might be of some interest some of you. All in all my nails are dryer then when I started, but they are not weak. http://betterthandiamond.com/discussion/...ttin#Post669988
