After months of research, I decided to purchase my girlfriend's (now fiancee) ring from moissaniteco.com. At first, I was hesitant - partly because the company does not have a phone number listed on their website, but all of the positive reviews I read on this forum helped me ease my concern, and I decided to go ahead.

I purchased the HW repro ring and I was (still am) very disappointed with it. The craftmanship is poor. There were several things wrong with the ring and while I won't list all of them, here are a few that are glaring:

1) A visible nick on the halo part of the ring
2) A couple of the side stones are crooked / placed unevenly (which make those stones look darker than the rest - like cavities)
3) Ring is flat at the bottom
4) Ring width is uneven

But even worse than the craftmanship was their customer service (or the lack thereof). Simply put, it's just poor and it didn't help that they have no phone number, the email responses didn't even address the questions and concerns we had, and they weren't prompt about it either. We also asked about options to enhance the stone. I sent the ring back and there was no real communication about our concerns. After roughly 2 weeks, I got the ring back, and the 'fixing' they did was far from redemption. Most of our concerns were not addressed and some were completely ignored.

A word of caution to those that have tiny fingers like my fiancee (4 range). I was told that the reason for the ring being flat at the bottom is "...due to how small it had to be sized, but that is virtually invisible once the ring is worn." confusedmad Why doesn't moissaniteco.com mention that on the website? Who'd a thunk by looking at their webiste, that a size 4.25 ring would mean flat and asymmetrical ring? My fiancee has quite a few rings...a lot of them are in the size 4 range and they are all round. If a jeweler does not have the skills to maintain the integrity of the ring's aesthetics from sizing it down, it ought to be disclosed prior to purchase.

I was looking to buy the matching wedding band but it seems that moissaniteco.com's quality of product and customer service has wore me off so I'll be buying elsewhere.

Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry that your experience was negative. frown

Did you try the live chat with customer service? That might help with the response time and communication. Although at this point you might have decided that it's not really worth it anymore frown
Would you be able to return the ring and try another option with another jeweler?

I have a few size 3 pinky rings and have a size 4.5 diamond ring for sale on the Bistro and they're all completely round so their explanation regarding it being out of round doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Do you have pics of the ring that you can post? Too bad you had such a bad experience and I hope that you can get resolution smile

Perhaps the sidestones made it difficult to resize, and thus the funny shape? But like he said, if it can't be resized easily, it shouldn't be offered in that size without a disclaimer. I hope everything works out.

Many of their settings can be found from unique settings. From the way you describe your ring I'm wondering if they took a stock size 6 or 7 and sized it down to a 4. They would have had to flatten out the bottom otherwise the sizing could bring the shoulders in too much and risk distorting the setting.

Thank you for sharing and I am so sorry to hear that you are unhappy with Moissco. I just got a ring and some studs from them and I couldn't be happier with both. I did notice that my cushion halo is more square than cushion shaped however, it has grown on me and most people say that it makes my ring look antique. I really like that. I have had a great time communicating with Chris and Mike via email. Have you spoken with Mike? I did notice that there is one person specifically via chat that is not very friendly but Chris and Mike redeemed that persons behavior, in my opinion.

I really hope this can get resolved for you guys as I completely understand how frustrating that would be to feel you did not get what you had been hoping for. I wish you the best of luck in sorting this situation out smile

Thank you all for your responses. Yeah, the response I received didn't (doesn't) seem to make much sense to me either.

Baby Milo, my fiancee said exactly the same.

btrflai, I'm glad your experience was a positive one. Unfortunately, one of the two names you mentioned is the person I've had the terrible experience with.

If there are other vendors people recommend, I'd greatly appreciate it. I still need to buy a wedding band for my fiancee and she's wanting to buy a few things.

Poppyseed has been wonderful for me, plus if you are wanting the matching band it likely came from Unique Settings which Amcor can order from smile

I wear a 3.75 and I got my ring from MoissCo, it is a weee bit uneven. They were nice about offering to re-do the ring, but I couldn't bear to have it leave my finger -odd right smile Since the shank tapers in the middle and they took off more on one side of the ring, my ring tappers most at the side.

Does this make any sense? Is this what your ring looks like? Mine is still round but I have a plain shank so it might be comparing apples to oranges since there are no side stones.

Good luck, hope it works out! Please post a picture!
In their defense give them a shot to fix the e-ring (again), there are some very nice people there. I recommend Amcor for the wedding band too.
