Resa is having her left knee replaced as a result of a fall at work several years ago that just never has healed up right.

It will take place tomorrow morning at 7:30 (Tuesday November 8) and I have to get her to the hospital by 5:30 in the morning to get every thing done that needs to be done before the surgeon comes in at 7:30.

She gets to come home on Friday and I get to attend a couple of rehab classes with her on the two days after her surgery, one Wednesday and one on Thursday.

When we went to the pre surgery class they told us that only a few years ago the patient spent a week in the hospital and then two weeks in the rehab wing prior to coming home.

Now they will have her up and taking a few steps about three hours after surgery and they expect her to be able to return to work in only two weeks.

Amazing what medicine has been able to do with joint replacements these past few years.

Sending requests upstairs to the Big Guy for Resa ~ here's to a smooth surgery and fast recovery!!! They've really come a long way with knees in the last 5 years ~ my MIL had hers replaced last year and couldn't be happier! I think it was about 4 months till she was at 100% ~ she'll tell you she'd do it again in a heart beat!
