Hi @e.taylor, you are right - next time I will not be announcing what my stone is. I think my mom did form opinions before seeing the ring. My comment about moissanite being better than diamond (that was in defense to her saying diamond or nothing) probably didn't help the situation either.

Aww I'm sorry you had to send her back! I think I would have fallen over backwards if my mom had talked about my ring that way, wow!! I too, like some others said, wonder if she wasnt already a little biased before even seeing it, and that may have skewed her perception a bit. In the pics, there is hardly a difference, but I know that can be hard to capture too. I hope that you are happier with your asha and get your pretty back on your finger soon!!

You could get an Asha and your mom would totally believe its a diamond if you wish.

I have a amora and I have not told anyone what it is. Nobody has been able to tell. I have held it next to 2 other co-workers rings and they both stated they were jealous because they thought my "diamond" was a better quality than theirs. lol

Although I do love the Amora (Mira), I can see a slight difference in color when you compare it against your mother's diamond. I think it's the difference in cut that stands out more than the color. You will probably be much happier with an Asha temporarily and a H&A Amora gem in the long run.

I too, saw the difference in the last pic (next to your mom’s, despite the pic quality/blurry).
Right away I noticed that your stone has a greyish color, a slight tinge of green. Now, it might have been obvious to me because I’m probably VERY color sensitive and your mom’s ring is right next to it.

I have an RB in H (1.5 ct), while it looks pretty I much prefer the color f/g cushion that I have.
I believe my Krupps is H too, and I think that color goes perfect with step cuts. Again, all just personal and honest opinion

ETA: I think that you’d be happy with an Asha while you’re waiting for the H&A Amora. Consider ordering the stone first to see IRL. Good luck!

I feel so bad that your feelings were hurt by your mom. But I have to tell you that the side by side pic showed your Mira looking as Good as Moms stone. It's a shame that a stone you seem to have loved was returned.

I have a Mira coming and after seeing your pics, I am more excited than ever to get her.

I mourn your loss, for the kind words that were never spoken and for the stone that you loved.

Okay, no one smack me...but that Mira looks like a dud. Because the picture was blurry and it wasn't throwing sparkle you could see more, I think. I promise you my old school moissy was whiter than that. Truly.

I still think your mom had no right to say what she did, but I wasn't expecting that much of a glaring difference, TBH.

I wonder about trying another stone, but if you are just turned off by the whole experience then perhaps asha is a better way to go until AMORA GEM H&A!!!! (can you tell I'm excited? lol)

I'd love to hear comments by vendors, because that just doesn't seem right. No way in heck is that stone an "H."
