I love your home. And not so many things to dust. I have collected one of a kind treasures over the years, but as I've grown older, when I see something like the pictures below (my bookshelves), all I think of is DUST. Enjoy your goodies before you start to think "Dust".

Thanks Mimi, you are so sweet! The rug is from Lowes, a knock off version of the blue plum blossom rug by Karastan

Grandma, I love your bookshelves! They hold some great memories and stories I am sure! I don't see dust, I see living!

Diamonds, thank you. I have had a hobbie of going to estate sales (not garage sales) and picking up little treasures. I find that garage sales require you to get up early (I refuse to since retirement) and at most modest neighborhoods, I don't find the type things I love (OLD leather covered bottles, hand-blown green bottles, wooden boxes). If I go to a ritzy neighborhood garage sale, the owners are usually there and they want HIGH dollar for their junk.

Estate sales are run by someone who gets a percentage of the proceeds and you can bargain better with them because they have no attachment to the items. Small stuff they don't make much money on so I gather up a few things that are dusty and dirty and make an offer on the whole batch. They normally take my offer just to de-clutter the sale. I have gotten wonderful boxes, etc that way.

I have too much clutter now so I am no longer in acqisiton mode.
