I had grass fed beef for breakfast, ham/cheese/veggies for lunch, turkey for dinner with asparagus. My one treat (legal) is whipping cream with a bit of vanilla and stevia over berries.

I already feel better.

Yes, it's common for people, not just vegetarians, to crave sugar when they're not getting adequate protein. It's harder as a vegetarian, but I'm sure if you focus on it it will be no big deal!

E.taylor, that is my exact treat that I have sometimes too!! And sometimes, for variety, I blend softened cream cheese with whipped cream, and it is so rich like cheese cake. YUM.

yes! I use marscapone to do that!

I also make a spiced walnut "candy" and eat it over that too...lol!

May I join you ladies??

My fiance follows a paleo diet. He's a power lifter so he tends to eat a lot of protein too. I just can't seem to fully follow what he eats, though! I tend to let him cook dinner since he wants to follow a strict diet for a while, but it's hard to stick with this during the day when he's gone for work. I also love my Korean food and it almost feels like I'm "cheating" because of all of the rice, marinades and flavors, LOL!

I'm hoping that if there are posts on here about a low carb diet, I'll tend to think about it more and not stray smile I'm also hoping this will keep me AWAY from jewelry forums. Pictures of jewelry = thoughts about what I need to do to get it grin

Nice! I'm an olympic lifter and also do a lot of protein...though I need to get back into a more strict schedule. I do better if I'm training for something. Right now I got nuthin'.

I'm lucky in that dh is a personal trainer and likes to kick my butt-so long as I let him. He's been in the biz for over 20 years, but I still like to heckle and challenge him! He's also strict paleo (I'm more primal) so I get support at home. My kids also eat pretty much the same way. Makes it much easier.

You are?! And your husband is a personal trainer? Oh maaan! I can picture my fiance getting on here to talk to everyone now, LOL!

Eating a healthy diet was easier when it was just the two of us in the house. We have a couple more people living with us now and I'm catching myself eyeing their frozen pizzas and boxed macaroni and cheese, hahaha.

How's everyone doing? I stayed the course today and had zero sugar or grains. I ate a good amount of protein and had a filling dinner. I just made cream cheese squares for snacking purposes (cream cheese, butter, eggs, coconut flour, vanilla and stevia) which are very satisfying and filling. I plan to bake 2-3 times a week to keep myself on task.

BUT I will say that just two days into being "good" I feel a million times better. No funky blood sugar fluctuations today, not feeling like I was starving....nothing. I'm soooo happy that I have a way of eating I can count on to make me feel so excellent.

You ladies have more self control than I do! I've NEVER been able to stick to a diet for more than a week LOL I just love food too much. And I get grouchy when I can't eat what I want. For years my doctors have been telling me I need to work out and I finally started doing that. It was hard the 1st 3 weeks but it's been 3 months now and I run 5 miles every morning and eat whatever I want during the day. My migraines and depression and anxiety that I've had since high school are all gone too. So I guess my point is if you can find the time to just work out (for me it's an hour a day) then do that and eat what makes you happy smile *Disclaimer _ Happy within reason... meaning don't eat McDonald's all day !!!

Unfortunately it's not a "diet" for me. Eating this way stops my anxiety, lethargy and discomfort. So yea, I'd love to just eat what I want but that doesn't bring me health, unfortunately. If it does you, I'm jealous! cry

I exercise regularly (see my post above) but that doesn't change the fact that I don't do well on grains and sugar. I have certainly gone on binges and PAID for it. Not worth it. Nothing to do with weight gain either (though that does happen.) I get anxious, depressed and sooooo tired. That and achiness creeps up, but that's only in recent years.

I don't know if I could stick to it as a diet. I'm not good at diets. For me it's a lifestyle and the only one I feel good on, so that's reason enough for me to motivate myself!

I did well today! Lots of protein and veg. No suagr or grains. smile I am going to whip up some crean cheese and whip cream and add some blueberries smile

This thread helped me to get back in the right mindset. But it is not a diet as such for me either. This is just how I need to eat to maintain a healthy weight, to feel healthy, and to not have crazy food cravings.
