The sweet man thought it would be a nice surprise, so I couldn't show that I was not thrilled.

My father did that to me recently with my culinary kryptonite: poppyseed coffee cake. I HAD to eat it. For him! lol. Really, I COULD have frozen it, but my rationale was that I would be haunted by it's presence and perseverate on it constantly. So I did the right thing. Ate it, removed any possibility of it beckoning me in the night, thanked my father up and down and let him know of my plans to get back on the straight and narrow. He's a low carber too, and totally gets it.

I *think* I'm safe!

Wow! Thanks for the cheesecake recipe, e.taylor! Sounds delish!

I made the pizza dough recipe from the recipe thread, and even DH (who still eats wheat) thought it was good. I had probably too much protein and not enough veg/fruit yesterday... Snacking on Italian sausage while cooking it for pizza. Snacking on cheese (same reason, LOL!), etc.

Cauliflower "rice" is good! Thanks for more ideas to change it up, jcent and e.taylor. Mmmm!

For me, as well, wheat-free is definitely not a "diet." It's how I live, now. After being on and off wheat for so many years, the science-based info (from Wheat Belly book and blog) on what it actually does to *every* body, finally caused me to kick it for good. I tell my DH that I simply cannot, in good conscience, feed him white-death (aka wheat products). He kinda-sorta gets it, but hasn't made the full change yet... tongue

Cricket-I have a to DIE FOR cheesecake recipe with a spiced walnut crust that I'll find for you. I'm always begged to bring it everywhere-even for those who are not on any diet whatsoever. It's amazing. I make it sugar free (liquid stevia) but you can use regular sugar if you like.

It all sounds so good! Ok, so far today I have had a piece of chicken (baked chicken breast) with half of a sweet potatoe...okay, maybe not exactly on track but heading that way.....:). Planning on having some beef with veggies for dinner........how bad are sweet potatoes? I do not need to lose much weight, maybe five pounds but I desperately need to feel better and I do know that I feel better eating low carb, low sugar.

sweet potatoes aren't that bad, but I would take them out along with fruit, just to give you body a chance to catch up and understand that it is low sugar from now on. Like 2-4 weeks. And flush your system with a ton of water. smile
