Oh Lordy.....chocolate mousse! Yay! I am so excited and inspired. I love the idea for a recipe thread,...,,,everything sounds so good! I am craving carbs and may make parsnip fries as a sorta treat.....have any of you tried them? I cut them up into thin pieces and brush a little olive oil and sea salt and bake them....they are delicious!!! My Fiancé loves them and he is not too keen on health food smile

how we doin' peeps?

I almost caved yesterday, but didn't. I ended up working late because people kept showing up late to appointments. By the time I finally got my kids and got home I was ravenous. Ready to eat anything that stood still long enough. But I called my dh and told him and he talked me down. lol.

Today is the first inherently hard day. We have celiac disease (dh, kids and me-fun times!) and the gluten free/dairy free/soy free/nut free bakery by us does donuts on Saturday. They didn't do them the week before thanksgiving and they were closed the week of. So this is the first day since I've been diligent that I'm going to get warm, delicious, donuts.

My kids are so happy for donut day! I just don't know how I'll manage to get by! HALP!

oh, that is a tough one! STAY STRONG! It really will not taste as good as you think. wink

Yesteday I did eat a handful ot tortilla chips. I don't feel too bad about it, but it was the same situation as you. It was later in the day, and I was starving, and we werre BBQing but ram out of propane, so dh had to go fill up the tank, and while I was waiting DD ate some chips. blush

they're here. it hurts! Jcent, sadly they WILL taste as good as I think they will! And since they're fresh they're all squishy and soft......

I'm going to test my ketones. If I'm spilling and can see evidence I'll want to keep spilling and that may be enough for me.

I walked out of that bakery WITHOUT:
pumpkin whoopie pies (my favorite and I haven't had them in TEN YEARS. that was painful-this is the first time they've had them!)
red velvet truffles
cake pops
seven layer bars
peppermint chocolate chip pound cake.

Lord help me. I think I can make a reasonable approximation of the pumpkin whoopie pie that's legal. I can definitely do the pound cake. With some effort the cake pops are doable as well. The only things I really can't do are the donuts and the seven layer bars-which I technically COULD do with some modification. I just can't sub butterscotch chips at this point. Hmmmmmmmm. I may need to think on that.

Staying strong so far!! Off to test.

Last night I had swedish meatballs (well, a grain free/starch free version!) They were delicious. I had a bunch of broccoli too and felt nicely full. I also made meatloaf, which is what I had for breakfast and sent the rest to work with dh, lol. My last cream cheese square is sitting in the fridge so I may have that instead of a donut.

That bakery sounds dangerous!!! And yummy! I don't know if I could do it honestly. I am a piggy. Eat the cream cheese square instead smile You will feel better later on in the day when you haven't cheated.

I think I need to find a gluten free bakery around here... reading about donuts is making me want some, and the "evil" donut shop is around the corner from my house. Well, except that bakery list doesn't include "sugar free" and that's my biggest thing. Sugar, flour, and corn. And evil, evil paprika. lol.

e.taylor - you should take a picture of your yummy donuts for us! At least let us live vicariously through you that way. LOL.

jcent - way to go on only eating a bite of Bday cake. smile That's awesome control, even if it IS because of your pregnancy.

Today was tough for me - had to go to a Christmas party that DH's work put on for the kids (Santa was there, presents, indoor bouncy castles etc). We had lunch but there was NOTHING I could eat. I sipped water, and ate some cheese/veggie topping off a stale piece of pizza. I didn't eat the crust at least!

Then I was babysitting for a friend tonight, and was so rushed in going from one to the other, I didn't get to prepare dinner. At all. I thought I'd have a few hours between the two tasks, but it didn't happen. SO, DH ordered take out - chinese. I just ate some veggies. I'm pretty darn sure they're loaded with enough crap to be worse than if I ate bread today, but I didn't know what else to do.

Sigh. I should have picked up a new box of protein bars at the grocery store this week (I carry them in my purse, for days just like today. Otherwise, my diet is all homemade stuff).

Anyway - I'm exhausted, I just ate a midnight snack after getting home from babysitting - veggies, and milk with my vitamins. (eating this late is bad, I know, but I'm seriously low on calories today, and I can't sleep if my stomach is cramping from hunger.) Off to bed now.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Dayna, lol, so funny, but I actually feel sick from that 1 bite of cake. At least that will keep me away from the rest of of it. DD was sharing it with her dolls, so I don't expect it to last long.
