My dream? to recreate this ring: it will NEVER happen (unless I win the lottery!) But if we're dreaming, there it is. Demantoid and diamonds. E, what are the stats on that center stone? That is a great color on for a demantoid. I have thought about getting one of mine set, but they are quite fragile and that worries me. My "gem dude friend" suggested that I don't get my big one set and just keep it in my "special" collection, but I'm soooo tempted sometimes. Mine has more yellow, so it's not as rare, but it still sparkles like the dickens - they are an incredible stone.

I shall have to find them for you! I know it's a 1.85 carat cushion but that's it. I'll try to see if she gives dimensions and if not, I'll ask her.
You HAVE ONE?!?!?! What am I saying...of course you do! PHOTOS WOMAN!
Yes this was apparently a very rare stone with good horsetail inclusions. I am obsessed with it. This is a Russian Demantoid and I guess the most rare so I doubt I'll ever be able to have one just like it! Mine are supposed to be Russian also, but I can't prove that without a proper cert. (I have a cert stating it's a natural demantoid, but not the origin - those cost quite a bit of $$$) Mine have the inclusions that are common to the Russian stones, but they are NOT the perfect "swirls" that make the stones more valuable. I have photos on my other computer, so I'll try and get a few posted on the colored stone forum later today. The problem with these stones (because of the luster) is that they are very difficult to get good photos. I did get a couple of cool highly magnified inclusion photos.

I'm sooooooo jealous! LOL - you haven't even seen them yet! But of course you can! The smaller one isn't cut that great, but the color is good. The larger one has a nice cut, but has a bit more yellow than is considered "preferred".
