this is very commonly what people refer to as the detox phase. IF that's what it is (and not just a common cold!) then it generally is over with in about a week if you don't change anything, and more like two weeks if you decide to slow it down, IME. It's a good thing, but it's not always pleasant! I always encourage people to do epsom salt soaks and maybe increase vitamin C to assist the liver in getting the junk out.

THANK-you, e.taylor! laugh The recipe is similar to my "regular" recipe, 'cept there's also a lemon glaze layer that goes on top of the cream cheese layer that reeeally makes it lemony and yummy! drool

Lemon Glaze:
½ cup sugar
1 ½ tbsp. corn starch
¼ tsp. salt
¾ cup water
1/3 cup lemon juice
2 tsp. lemon rind, grated
1 egg yolk, beaten
1 tbsp. butter

The sugar could be subbed out. I use xylitol instead of sugar, 'cause it has a similar texture although to my taste buds, it has a slightly different degree of sweetness to regular sugar.

Have you made this cheesecake in a springform pan ever? If so, what size did you use? I'm thinking a festive Christmas dinner dessert, here... grin

I have lemon squares that are similar to that! YUM!!!!

I've never done this particular one in a springform. I should try that....

Thanks e.taylor.....I did take an Epsom salt bath last night and pounded vitamin C and I feel better this morning. The detox phase makes sense.....I am sure that's what it is!!!! Makes so much sense!

And drink lots and lots of water.

I have been doing well, but am so so tired. I have needed fruit a few times a day to avoid feeling sick and light headed.

Jcent....would you say that your light headiness and feeling sick is from the detox phase too? I woke up feeling well but am fairly miserable now, same weird headache and slight dizziness and sore throat and again, I can almost guarantee I do not have a cold. I am hoping to get through this phase quickly! I am going to try a little fruit too, thanks.

I would say mine is from the first trimester of pregnancy, wink I have eaten this way for years, on and off, and generally it makes me feel great. But I am just so tired right now... Fruit will give you a bit of a blood sugar boost, but if you are still experiencing any cravings still, I would wait to put fruit back in.

Hey gals- I haven't been very active here at BTD for a while- I lurk once in a while though. I thought I would stop by the low carb thread and share something with you. It was "Upgradable" that originally got me started low carbing 2.5 years ago (Thanks Uppy!) I've been through Atkins and read several of the other low carbers, tried HCG and have now made my way over to Paleo.

In July, I was introduced to Dr. Jack Kruse and have been following his "Leptin Reset RX" since July 11th. Now, this is not a lose weight quick plan, and if you have hormonal problems (like me), it is very possible that you may gain while following the reset, but I believe that positive changes are happening in my body and I am on my way to being my healthiest ever.

If you do check out Dr. Kruse, read his bio, then read his blogs on Leptin. http://jackkruse.com/ Happy New Year!

I'm a huge fan of his work and have found it to be truly helpful. Thanks for stopping back in! I've missed you!
