I'm looking for a pair of good but cheap pearls, my one pair i have turned out to be fake, and with the outside rubbing off and the clasp broken i figured it was better to just find a new pair. What are some good pearl websites that are a good price?

Thanks!

I have gotten some nice freshwater pearls from Overstock.com.

Pearl Paradise is awesome, and you can get a really nice string of white freshwaters for less than $250.

I have bought most of my pearl jewelry from PP, from small stud earrings to expensive strands, and have been extremely happy with all my purchases.

ok so looked at overstock and pearl paradise- what i don't understand is what the difference is between these two- from what i can tell both are 6.5-7 mm and 16 inches white and AAA grade?

At first glance, one has a gold clasp, one silver.

The one from PP has rounder pearls so I would prefer those-but you may not mind so much. That's a preference thing.

I'm guessing that the overstock are not hand knotted on silk, or the quality of the silk isn't as good as those from PP. Don't know for sure though. I remember reading somewhere about this aspect. I didn't pay enough attention. blush

The PP strand is definitely higher quality IMO.

Hi Marie. You might want to reconsider the 16" length. I find 18" to be an all around good length. Also, the size of the pearls. I prefer the larger ones for myself (I'm a large woman and 53 years old). I also prefer the 20" length for my wrinkly old neck. Traditionally the larger pearls cost more. But, you need not go real. Jackie Kennedy wore fake Chekoslovakian pearls all her life. What you're looking for is LUSTRE. If you're interested in checking out these pearls--go to Kamrose and Kross--They're very beautiful.
