@Kanga: The halo doesn't show as much as I would like it to, but David said he couldn't do that without changing the way the diamond sits in the basket. Maybe I could have asked him to thicken to scalloped bars along the edges, but I like it the way it is. The side view is my favorite anyway
@Tahnee: I went with the 8mm, but it's a 3 carat - where did you get the 2.15 carat figure? I got the regular Asha cushion, not the antique cushion, from here:

For the few people that have asked, they have known enough to know that a cushion is an antique cut, and so I imply that it's a secondhand stone, and I've also used the old "it's not flawless, there are inclusions under the prongs" trick also.
@lawyer2bee: all the ones in the jewelry box were taken by the jeweler before he send the ring out, so unforunately I can't claim those! But yes, his photos are awesome!
I'm thinking of having my solitaire reset and a setting like this is what I've been looking at for weeks. My hubs is going to have a fit when I tell him, considering I just got mine in October
