Anyway, I was side tracked earlier with school pickup, then my DD was using the computer I use for my pictures. She still is, so I'll try to post some pics later.

For now, I'm wanting to use a stone in my original, yg solitaire, maybe the blue, to work with my sapphire band ring? Then, another in my mom's original wg solitaire. I'm definitely looking for opinions.

Okay, I'm finally back. I have some pics with the stones placed into the empty solitaires. The YG is my original ering, the WG is my mom's. I'd love to be able to use the older solitaires as alternates. BTW, the other WG solitaire, the split shank, is my current ering.

The .67ct pear in the yg. Question: it's the same carat weight as my round. Which looks bigger to you?

One last option, is to put a .75 round in the yg solitaire, which would make it look like it used to (well, a bit bigger.)

I'm looking for any feedback/ideas you might have. I'm definitely wanting to set something into the yg solitaire. Not only is it my original, and so it's sentimental for me, but it would give more options to wear my sapphire band, and diamonique band, other than as RHRs. The wg ring was my moms, so again, sentimental, and also, why should she sit alone inthe dark when she can be pretty and worn?

Thank you, jcent and spaz for the assistance. Thank you, so much. I am sorry I went awol over the weekend. Time flew, and it's harder for me to get time on the computer with the kids having access all day. Even when I get the time, something else always gets in the way.

Looking as those big pics, I can see that a) my pictures are blurry! and b) my k colored ering really does look off-white next to that white cz. That doesn't bother me in person.

So, what do you think about the stones as I propped them up for viewing? In the pics, I think I like the white pear in my yellow solitaire. I wish it was a smidge bigger, but do think the pear appears bigger than the same weight round, do you?

I love the color of the blue, which matches perfectly with my sapphire band, too. I'm not sure about the shape/size/position of the stone, though.

Love the tanzi colored pear, but not with the sapphire band. Maybe that could one day be a pendant.

I'm loving the cushion in my mom's wg solitaire setting. Not sure about the position, though. I like the idea of setting it with the corners NSEW, but would it be safer the usual way? It is a cz, not a diamond, so it's not going to be costly to replace, if needed some day.

I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on these possibilities. I'm getting excited with the idea that these two settings may eventually be used again. Why have them sitting in the dark of my jewelry box, when they can be filled with a pretty stone and see the light of day?

Not a problem! I am LOVING that tanzanite pear...so pretty! I think she'd make a great pendant...or maybe a right hand ring?? That colorless cushion is also beautiful! I say if you love it kite-set, keep it that way...you have a great point with it not being expensive to replace. Chris's gems make them a great candidate for "maybe some day" might need replacing. I agree...I think the pear and the round look to be the same size just about. If you want a bigger one, go for it! Again, the stones are so affordable. The colorless pear is gorgeous, though...I would totally wear it as a wedding set! I think the last link you posted isn't correct, because it's the same pic comparing your real vs. cz tanzanite So I can't answer that question yet, as I wanna see what picture it was supposed to be

I'd love to get that colorless pear, (which I just realized is a 'warm H,not actually colorless, boy that pic sure makes my diamond look BAD, it's not like that in person!) just a little bigger, maybe a carat or so, but it wan't available when I ordered, and hasn't been for weeks. Does any one know how often they update their inventory?
I do think I'm going to put the cushion in the white ring. That's my mom's ring, I think she'd like that.
I think I'm going to start looking for a simple pendant setting for that tanzi. It's too pretty not to be out in this world.
I'll work on getting the right picture of the round in the yellow ring, when I get home from picking up the kids at school.

Lets see if this picture actually posts, it's close to what my ering was originally. The band shown is my 15th year anni band. I would like to wear that solitaire again with that and/or the sapphire band as an alternate to my current set. (editing to add: to be clear, the set on the left has the ChrisCZ, the set on the right is my current set.)
