Kanga, when the heck are you getting your peachy pink OEC? Is that still a future project? I'm feeling pretty darn content with my ring but I do want to get a spacer ring to protect it from my wedding bands. *adds to wish list*

LOL, kewpee! I think you are right and I am blinding 'em with super moissy sparkle. I need to start hanging out in coffee shops and supermarkets. It blings out of control there. laugh

I just read through all this and your ring is amazing!! I'm so happy to see you finally got your dream ring. I just signed up for an oec moissy. Those comments are so out of line and truely if someone says they would never wear your ring, take it as a compliment! do you know how many people I know with the exact same ring from zales and kays? a friend of mine just got a huge honker from zales as an anniversary present and showed us all on facebook well another friend took the wind right out of her sails and said she had the same one...kinda crappy. it kind of makes it not even that special if someone you know personally and see all the time has the exact same ring. There is nothing really unique about it anymore.
I have an edwardian repro ring and have been wondering for a long while that a oec would look so much better in it. Every time I have been asked about my ring, it is questioned if it was a family heirloom and ya know, now I'm just gonna say yes! haha and with the old antique diamond feel with the oec.
when I showed my mom chriscz's oec she gasped and asked about the hole in it and I'm like oh it's just a cut in the bottom to make in extra special. and I must admit when I first saw a OEC a few years ago I'm like ugh wth? but it's true like flash said, the more I see them, the more I love their uniqueness and how different they are from what is mostly on the market today. I'm glad though that none of my friends know what an antique is or how to get them because I like having something that is just my taste that no one else has.
I do think that having a oec or omc cut is easier to pull of being a diamond because who would question it if they've never seen one? there is nothing to compair it to like a brilliant cut diamond.

this is long! again congrats! I love the emerald too!!

GOSH... I've read through to catch up on this thread and just let the haters be haters Milady.... your ring is pure perfection.... I would just look at them and say ...

.... Don't feel bad... I takes sometime and education to learn about the antique cuts of diamonds and the proper color for these stones... and give them one of those smiles like you would give a four year old.... that's the perfect way to make them feel like they just made an A$$ out of themselves.. grin

.... but it's gorgeous... and I'm sooo so very happy for you that she's finally yours... smile

Bronwyn: That sucks that the friend said she had the exact same setting! That would totally steal my thunder, grr. Maybe she thought it was cool that they had twinkie rings, but most people want something quasi-unique or special that their friends don稚 already own. I think an OEC would look absolutely perfect in an Edwardian repo! love Please do it!! Do you have pics of your setting?

Roo: I do explain that it's an antique stone but then they look at me like I知 even more of an alien. Or they think I知 a liar because they致e never heard of antique stones. I guess they think round brilliant cuts are the only way diamonds have ever been cut for hundreds of years? *eye roll* Whatevs. They can keep their cloudy rounds and I値l keep my unique OEC! wink

Hillaroo: Thank you, hon! smile

COLOR UPDATE: I have had numerous green moissy sightings now. sick It always happens on overcast days. If I知 wearing green clothing then my OEC turns apple green. If I知 not wearing green then it turns a light pastel green. The entire stone will turn green and stay that color until it is completely removed from any traces of the crappy lighting.

My OEC still looks perfectly fantabulous in sunlight, my office, my house, grocery stores, movie theaters, and any other indoor lighting you can think of. Although, I was at the mall yesterday and we had gloomy weather; there were sky lights throughout the mall so my moissy looked green inside as well, booo. I can say with certainty now that if I had the available funds, I would switch to an Amora OEC. I probably won't be able to do that for a really long time, but if I win the lottery then I would switch my stone. Just my two cents!

Thanks for being honest Milady. I'm getting the amora enhancement on my stone, not because I want it to be lighter, but because I've read it takes the green away. I'm glad you still love it because it is a gorgeous ring.

Milady, I'm sorry to hear about the green! :<
Maybe you can start wearing more red on those gloomy days? If reflections from your green clothes have that kind of effect on your stone, I imagine red would have the opposite effect and cancel out some of the green... worth a shot, unless you really hate the color red! smile
