I've seen moissanite before IRL at a store called Landau and even though those were the lower-quality kind, they still looked beautiful and sparkly.
I have a 1 carat H colored Asha I would like to swap out with a moissy so I ordered an unenhanced stone. I've read countless times that smaller carat unenhanced stones show less color so, I took the plunge and ordered one just to look at.
I love the color of the stone in bright outdoor lighting, but as soon as it became overcast or in dim lighting situations, my stone turned VERY green. I'm a little bummed but I am getting an enhanced OEC for another ring project so I am optimistic that the enhancement will reduce the green color I've been seeing in certain light. I still want a 1 carat stone for my other ring, but I guess I will have to get it enhanced. BUMMER!

Ahhhh, the overcast snotcast. Are you doing an Amora enhancement? I can't speak for non-Amora enhancements since I've never seen one in person, but I went from unenhanced moissanite to Amora and -POOF- no more snotcast when it's cloudy. It's the best magic trick ever!

Ugh, I'm sorry you were disappointed. I remember that well from my square brilliant ring. Hopefully the enhancement takes care of it for you Even with my Amora, I still catch times in crappy lighting or really bad weather where the tint takes a downturn, but nowhere near the green or even yellow I was used to before. Hang in there, keep trying!

Thanks guys, I read the stones like to look green in Oregon or the NW, duh, why didn't I realize it would show green in the NE? I'm in Boston, on the North Shore actually, maybe that has somthing to do with it. It's wierd though because the stone is sooooo gorgeous. The stones that Moissyco sells are better quality than the ones I've seen at chain stores like Helzberg or Landau. I'm just happy I purchased the stone to look at instead of getting it in a setting. There is no restocking fee but I do have to pay to ship it back with insurance. I've done it before, I just use one of those priority mail flat rate shipping boxes.
I won't have a chance to see my amora OEC as I plan on having Moissaniteco mail it directly to David Klass so he can inspect it for any chips or scratches before using it.

It not all about location... I'm in the south. I've had my unenhanced moissy OEC for less than one month and I've had multiple green sightings. It's perfect in all lighting conditions except for overcast days. Darn! I know...I've been stalking your thread. Your ring is soooo beautiful. You're giving me ideas for a wedding band. Any suggestions? Here's a link to my thread with the design layout for my ring. http://betterthandiamond.com/discussion/ubbthreads.php/topics/703080/Re_Need_your_opinions_please
