So I've been lurking for a while but this is my first post. Hi everyone!

Ok so my boyfriend (of 7 years) is talking engagement! I'm SO excited it's ridiculous, I wasn't expecting it really (because I'm still in school) so now that we are ready I am bursting at the seams with 7 years worth of excitement. So here's the thing, we are going on a cruise on March 4th and I really wanted to have a 2.25 ACC Asha set by then so that he had the opportunity to propose on vacation, if he wanted to (I think he would like to take the opportunity).

We are both pretty picky and have very different taste but we have finally agreed on a hybrid of JBEG designs, basically a solitaire. I e-mailed her and haven't heard back yet, does anyone have any idea if I am asking something completely ridiculous to have this set in 2 1/2 weeks? I am not asking for anything custom and I don't want a cad ahead of time.

I know I'm being impatient but I can't help it, I am literally bursting. So please tell me if I'm nuts

JbEG has a lead time of generally 4-6 weeks, AFTER cad approval...so yes, 2.5 weeks has very little possibility of happening. For custom, generally you need 4-6 weeks. David Klass works the fastest that I know of, but that was still 3.5 weeks with stone shipping and ring shipping etc. All of JbEGs work is custom; custom made to fit your stone. And all require a cad, as that is how they build the ring.

A stock setting is possible, maybe, if they have the stone on hand and they are not busy.

Jcent would definitely know better than I would, but I'm thinking that if what you are wanting is a "hybrid" of something, then it is most definitely custom, and CAD's are just part of that process.

Plus, like Jcent said, pretty much everything they do is custom for the particular center, unless you buy one of the settings they have on hand.

2.5 weeks would be suppperrr fast and unfortunately I'm not sure that it would be at all possible

Thanks for the response I figured that was the situation with most jewelers but I was relying on the where there is a will there is a way strategy. After almost 48 hours of waiting for JbEG to respond and not getting anything I started to look elsewhere. I would normally give someone much longer than that but 2 days is a significant chunk of my time frame.

I called a couple other places and I finally spoke with Leon Mege and he is willing to do a rush for me. So my stone is winging its way to him hopefully to be set and to me by the 3rd barring any SNAFUs.

I've seen the work Leon has done, and these ladies are right, you are not "settling" for him!! Can't wait to see pics - and you will need to take up knitting or cross stitch to keep your mind off of waiting on the ring. BELIEVE ME.
